Shop Around First For The Best Price!!!

I don't buy much anymore from QVC because I think better prices can be found for many of the same items. I do, however, sometimes watch different QVC shows that interest me. I recently had a Clarks show on QVC and they were showing their Cloudsteppers Breeze Sea thong sandals. Several years ago, I had a pair of these exact sandals and liked them. QVC had them for $49 plus $5.50 shipping. Several colors and sizes were available.

I went into Amazon (and I do have Amazon Prime) and typed in the name of these Clarks thong sandals and they came up as starting at $29.00. They had all the same colors and sizes the Q had available. Some of the colors were priced a little higher (in the low to mid $30 price range) but NONE were near the $49 amount that the Q was charging along with the $5.50 shipping charge.

Not only is the price a lot less, but Amazon has a fairly new feature where you can "try before you buy". They will send you the item (any shoes or clothing) and you have 7 days to decide it you like them and want to keep them. If after 7 days, you decide to keep them, only then will they charge your credit card. If you don't want them, you bring them to a local authorized Amazon return/drop off place like Kohls or UPS, etc or you can mail them back, your choice.

So, just a 'heads-up' before you buy do check around because you're likely to find a better price elsewhere.

That try&buy is not new. Amazon instituted that awhile ago. It doesn't apply to all clothing. Why are people who admit they never shop QVC try to dissuade others? What do people you get out of it? Do you how insulting it is for you to dare lecture others about shopping around? Like were too dumb to figure that out....lol. And you nothing about shopping Amazon. You are telling us things that Amazon put into place YEARS ago. I would never presume to tell others how to shop or manage their money. Whether you like it or not, accept it or not; many of us love QVC because we are getting the best prices .....for us.

Relax. If you want to buy from Q, do it. If you want to pay a higher price for something, do it.

I will always shop around to find the best price. The best price is rarely at Q.

@ciao_bella. Agree it pays to shop around! I always look around to find the best price.

Just last week, I saw a pair of new Skechers that the Q was selling for $75 plus shipping. Looked on Amazon and found the exact same shoe for $39.99, no shipping fee with Prime. So I saved $40, and they were delivered in two days. Yay for me! 😀

The convenience of the Q bringing merchandise to my attention, providing models or demonstrating an item, and having all kinds of categories of items is why I prefer to shop here.

Admittedly the variety is not what it once was, but I feel they will improve. Having spent years in retail, I know it will take some time before the ship turns around. I do not wish to take advantage of the items they feature at much more expense than online sites who have little overhead by shopping for a better price after they purchased the item and brought it to my attention.

Just to set the record straight, I used to buy a lot of stuff from QVC. Had purchased from them even before they changed the name to QVC, so to assume I 'never' shop QVC is not true. I said in my post, I don't buy "much" from QVC. Secondly, I'm not lecturing, I'm merely pointing out that better prices can be had at other places and I gave an example, as some others on this thread have also done. So, spend your money any way you'd like, but please do not tell me I have no right to voice how I spend mine or as I see fit and, like you, I can voice my opinion in here whether you agree with it or not!.

@ciao_bella I consider myself a very savvy shopper. I never buy anything full price anywhere, it can always be found cheaper somewhere that is not full price.

I shop QVC for a couple reasons. I HATE trying on clothes. I love seeing the models wearing the items, as long as they are generally in my size. Most all online sites do not have the detailed videos nor the full description with garment measurements as QVC. When shopping I will take one of my daughters, they both love trying on clothes, and I will ask them to try clothing on for me. If it looks good on them I will buy. Not sure why, but I just dislike trying on clothes over and over. I also like to wash all apparel before wearing. QVC allows you to return items, worn, washed and used, within 30 days. Most all other sites require items in new condition.

I am well aware of prices and never feel pressured to buy. I do my research. I do believe that the majority of QVC shoppers are well aware of their prices and where else they can shop. I believe they choose QVC for possibly the same reasons I do.

I agree with you and what you've said. Thank you for stating your opinion politely, unlike some other person. Everyone has their own choice as to where they purchase or for what reason. I was only pointing out that my experience with that particular brand (Clarks) was much more reasonable at Amazon. It was certainly not meant to 'insult' anyone as another poster accusingly stated, as to their choice in where to buy or purchase.
