Re: Shooting At Super Bowl Parade

I can't recall when I've seen a mass shooting post stay up so long. I guess certain types of gun violence are more acceptable for discussion than others. Or maybe some guns and perpetrators fit the right narrative.

Yes, usually the preferred narrative is that if we just eliminate guns, all will be well.

I do remember mass shooting posts being up this long - or longer, but again, they usually get shut down when the anti-gun crowd gets mad at any argument against their position.

However, your point seems to be that if it's not a white male shooter, people are happier to talk about it.  That hasn't been the actual experience on these threads - or clearly, in the media.

The longevity of this posts suggests otherwise. And the insistance that this is somehow gang related because the accused perpetrators are Black--despite no evidence of such--is an old tired trope.

There are white gangs too.

Re: Shooting At Super Bowl Parade

Kansas City Chiefs has had much violent regarding their team this year.  None their fault of course but it is so strange.  Violence at all sporting events seem to be on the rise.

Re: Shooting At Super Bowl Parade

I was just thinking about how one week ago everyone was so excited to celebrate our Chiefs not knowing that hours later the excitement would be forever ruined. Our city is still healing. People are starting to be arrested who allegedly were involved in this. I pray every day for the poor people, mainly children, who were injured or saw something they should never have to see. The Lopez-Galvan family is also in my prayers. One man said his little girl asked if this a drill like at school or of they were really going to die.  Heart

It wasn't just two adults. There were multiple shooters including two juveniles. They're still looking for more who were involved in the shooting. There were two "groups" involved in the altercation, not just two individuals. I'm betting those "groups" were gang members. And yes, gangs have adults in their groups. They aren't all kids.

When two rival gangs come together bad things tend to happen. And KC has lots of rival gangs. There's a reason it's nicknamed "Killa City". Do some research on gang violence in KC and it may open your eyes a bit more to the issues they have there. And elsewhere. Gangs aren't limited to the big cities these days. They're pretty much everywhere.

This was a good opportunity for the police and law enforcement to come together to address the issues of gang violence, but instead, it's being largely swept under the rug and ignored.

Missouri also has one of the highest number of total mass shootings in the country and some of the most lax gun laws. You can do your research on that.

I posted about it early on in this thread but of course it got deleted. Probably because someone didn't like those facts.

Re: Shooting At Super Bowl Parade

I've read this thread since the beginning and can't believe that the assumption was that gangs infiltrated the parade. Instead, the focus should have been on the open carry policy in Missouri. Even teens can carry weapons legally, so what do we expect?

The emphasis on race and gangs is disgusting!

Ah yes, finally - it's the guns causing all the problems.  Here we go.  Now this post won't be long for this world when the anti-gun folks get mad that people just can't see that laws against guns would solve ALL the problems.  I mean it worked so well with drugs.  Not to mention laws against theft, car-jacking, assault in general, etc. etc.
