Ain't nobody on here complaining going to take their business elsewhere. They know that, that's why they did it.
Many companies have done the same. The Q is did nothing many companies before them haven't already done. Oh, maybe some think they can "change" what QVC is doing in this regard? I won't hold my breath!
Get on with your lives, shop elsewhere or shop here. QVC is betting on you staying here. It's "familiar."

You need to check out Qurate's Financial Presentations thats given to stockholder's---it breaks down sales from new customer's, existing customer's, and inactive customers (inactives which keeps growing---people have left, and continue leaving, they got a temporary repreive during the quarantined pandemic, but that ended)...................
In the last 12 months June 2021 to June 2022 Qurate lost 1,966,000 customers......

I just heard today that a lot of companies that were offering free returns are now going to start charging, so don't expect QVC to offer free shipping or returns anytime soon to it's regular customers. Their trying to drum up new business and are hoping that free shipping will be a big enough incentive for them to buy.

@Spurt I am nowhere near that invested in this company. However many, many people are and have taken offense to not being treated like the newcomers will.
They are counting on percentage of people who buy the most to stay. Human behavior is a field of study and trust they employ all of the strategies and science when coming up with marketing campaigns.
The people who live on these forums from sun up to sun down are likely some of the biggest spenders and they are not going anywhere.
QVC is not the only business to have lost revenue. This is not phenominological in that loss of business is only happening to the Q. Look at the rest of the United States.

Like many a company before them. I'd say the Q is late to this "game."

Wow! Losing almost 2 million customers seems like a HUGE amount for any company.
I don't know the answers. I don't know any young people, so I don't know what, if anything, they watch on tv, but I feel like tv shopping like qvc/hsn/etc would not be a draw for young folks. Of course, I could be wrong. ![]()
IMO, one issue could be that the vast majority of what they sell is 'wants' opposed to 'needs' and you can generally find your wants elsewhere for less and better service. That's an important combination in terms of retailing.

Lets not compare apples to oranges---There have always been retail businesses that have succeeded while others have failed--poor management, the economy, not keeping up with the times are some reasons. But this thread is focused on just Qurate.
Going back to 2016 losses were at 2%- 4% now double digits 12%-16%...Can Qurate continue like this that's the question . ????? In order to reamin viable changes are needed because their status quo isnt working...thats what so many of us are trying to say...The "hosts are your friends" and "entertainment venue" isnt bringing in the sales....TIME FOR SOME CHANGES! And ignoring your loyal customers doesnt seem to be a wise thing...losing almost 2 mill customers in just a year isnt good.....Bringing in more streaming isnt working to increase customers and/or sales...

@Spurt You're preaching to the choir when it comes to me. I don't care about the Q's value, shares, earnings. I'm talking about the FACT that there are other companies who have done what they are doing today. Companies are doing it now (besides QVC). You read their earnings and quarterly losses and gains.
They are of no consequence to me. QVC made a decision that they believe will help keep them going. I shop the internet A LOT and many stores have perks for those who just have their store cards (Bloomie's and Nordies come to mind).
My thing is I have no doubt you and many others will continue to shop here. If that weren't true the cable channels you watch would be gone.
I have no "vested interest" in any of this. What I am offering is an opinion based on what I see other companies do. I'm not in the Q bubble, as it were.
Comparing good times with tough times (year over year quarters is silly) and sheds no light on long time viability. It is only a snap of time compared to another. When to worry? When you lose viewership! Until then, I'd say hope for the best.

Yet you're still able to post and complain here. Yet, they still have all those cable channels from which they broadcast. Yet, they are still bringing in various lines trying to provide variety. You'd think they would have been "bust by now?" Don'cha think @chickenbutt ? Why aren't they belly up yet? Methinks it's because they know what they're doing.
Finally, as I mentioned to @Spurt QVC is not the only company in the world to lose earnings after the Pandemic. We are still in an inflationary period as well.

Hi @gertrudecloset I'm not complaining or anything. I was just making an observation, mostly just mulling over the loss of customer thing and wishing I knew the answers because I don't.
I would certainly imagine they know more than I!
I just wonder what audience they target now and am curious about that audience because, as mentioned, I don't know any young people. I think it would be interesting, converse to somebody older like myself, what would draw a younger crowd that will be around for a lot longer than some of us.
