It wasn't meant to be funny.

If the bill is so important, drive it to the post office and put it in the mailbox.

@Spurt.  At first all the text in Mindy's post was missing.  Just the title was in place.  It was very mysterious for awhile thus t h e goofy responses.

Okay I understand now....I just thought people were being a bit too literal and a bit sarcastic 😄

I completely understood your post @Mindy D . Today I received two deliveries from AmEx for gift cards ordered in November and a cable bill due yesterday. Thankfully, I have autopay on the cable bill. The US Postal Service are having issues due to various reasons. My mailman no longer picks up anything even if scheduled. I receive mail maybe twice a week if I am lucky...

@Trinity11.  I think its about time to appoint and name a new postmaster general.

Re: Right in front of my eyes

One time I asked our post office about this. They said yes they are supposed to pic up outgoing mail even if you are not receiving mail.Part of their job he said.

Understandable if not a mail carrier. There are those that just deliver packages.

I have to mail our electric bill. They only take online for a fee.Stamp is cheaper.

Re: Right in front of my eyes

FYI: The major bank where I have my accounts and do on line banking can also send check payments. Next time you are at the bank, ask a bank employee (not a teller) to show you how to do it.

I did not know that until I was shown by someone at the bank. I only make check payments if it's a one-time expense.

Re: Right in front of my eyes

Two of my regular bills now add a fee (Ready Refresh & Frontier) if you want to continue getting your bill in the mail. And a hefty fee compared to the cost of a stamp.

I take important things to the post office rather than leaving them in the mailbox and hoping they get picked up.

From what I read USPS has different crews for package deliveries vs mail deliveries/pickup

@Spurt   @Mindy D

Spurt, that's what we have.

Mindy, was that person your REGULAR delivery person?  During the holidays, we had several USPS trucks on the street every day.  Most were just delivering; there are other regular delivery carriers that pick up when also delivering.

If every delivery-only carrier was to pick up mail, they'd be working longer.  Stopping a delivery-only person slows them down by doing what someone else is actually assigned to do.
