Re: Right in front of my eyes

@Mindy D @Kachina624

From what I read USPS has different crews for package deliveries vs mail deliveries/pickup

I never thought it was something they had to do and only kind enough to to when delivering something to you.

Plenty of mail boxes and places you are able to do it yourself.

There is no such thing as as bill that can't be paid via your online bank site.

If the vendor has not set up a interface, your bank will mail their manual check for FREE.  No postage.

I have to do this sometimes, the bank site will remember your account and their address.  Haven't had any stamps in the house for a couple of years.

Re: Right in front of my eyes

I completely understood your post @Mindy D . Today I received two deliveries from AmEx for gift cards ordered in November and a cable bill due yesterday. Thankfully, I have autopay on the cable bill. The US Postal Service are having issues due to various reasons. My mailman no longer picks up anything even if scheduled. I receive mail maybe twice a week if I am lucky...

Well, now I want to know what happened LOL but I’m guessing the story didn’t initially show up.  At any rate, with an important bill, I would recommend just driving to a mailbox or post office. I wouldn’t chance leaving it in an unattended mailbox where anyone could grab it.  We’ve had a locked box in a cluster for 20 years so maybe I’m just accustomed to that security.

@Still Raining

Our employer offered an option to purchase life insurance at a reduced rate as part of our work benefits. However each employee received a paper bill from the life company through the mail and the life company ONLY accepted payment by check through the mail---no online payments accepted.....    Thankfully, my employer changed to another company that DID accept online and automatic payments....

@tucsongal @I was standing right there in order to watch the pick up. The nearest mailbox is not close by.

Re: Right in front of my eyes

I never put important outgoing mail in my mailbox. I go to the PO and drop it off there. The mailboxes in my neighborhood are not safe and I have seen small children taking stuff out of them. One time I found a hair clip inside my mailbox...how did it get there?...one of the neighbor kids put it there.Woman Frustrated
