Remembering Betty and Helping Animals

[ Edited ]

This is a screenshot that I wanted to share here, not my idea but I

love it! Please help out your local shelter now or on January 17th

to honor Betty White.

If you can do anything to help out your shelter or any animal organization

even in the smallest way, I think Betty would be pleased!Heart

Please pass it on to all your animal friends!

Below is a beautiful picture of Betty and her beloved Ponty.Screenshot_20220102-134701.jpg

Re: Remembering Betty and Helping Animals

Any time or money spent on helping animals lead happier, healthier lives is rewarding.  I will be donating to my local shelter in Ms. White's memory.

RIP, dear, wonderful, loving and devoted person of pets and animals.  Heart

I'm going to look for some of her favorite animal charities.

This is a good time to donate to help those animals who would like a good home in this very cold Winter.

Bless all pets and animals.

What a beautiful photo.  Almost a portrait.

I might make a copy and frame it; hang it on a wall.

Betty will live on forever in our hearts and minds..........Heart

Even if she had not been a super-popular actress, I would still have admired her for her love and support of our loving, furry friends.  R.I.P., Betty White.

Re: Remembering Betty and Helping Animals

I'm sure heartbroken over the loss of such a wonderful person!

I noticed that TVLand is playing a lot of 'Golden Girls' episodes.  Also, I got some episodes of 'Hot in Cleveland' overnight and I see that they are re-airing all those same eps (10 in all, from S01 to S05) tonight at 10pm, my time, on TVLand.

I just lucked out, as I set up a Pass just yesterday for Hot in Cleveland, hoping they would re-air the show (I saw it all when it originally aired).  I kind of wish they did the entirety of the show, but I'll take the 10 eps.  Smiley Happy

As to the subject at hand, specifically:   I really wish I knew a way to donate to causes without having to give up personal info.  Not that I have anything to be ashamed of (my causes would mostly be animals, too), but what I HATE is that once you donate to anybody they not only harass you relentlessly but they share your info, so you get it from all angles.    I felt like I had to stop donating because of that, and that's a shame.  Granted, that's totally on me but I struggle about that sort of thing.

Wonderful post. Thank you for sharing this. That dog is so beautiful, I wonder if it was her own dog. Ms. White was a lovely person, using her platform for the good of those furry friends who cannot speak for themselves.

Re: Remembering Betty and Helping Animals

I make an annual donation to Animal Network in Las Vegas, Nev.   They perform wonderful and life-saving acts for pets whose owners are having financial difficulties.  I cannot praise them enough.

When I make my donation, I will think of Betty White.

Both myself and family members regularly donate to local shelters, not just on a specific date but many times.

Re: Remembering Betty and Helping Animals

Great idea. but hope everyone would be familiar with the animal shelter or organization they choose to support. I personally support a no-kill shelter where I know they operate on a shoestring and are staffed with compassionate, animal-loving volunteers.
