I used to prefer real, but somebody gave us a beautiful artificial prelit tree and I love it. Can't wait to start decorating!!!

When x-mas was over, she took off all the decorations but left the lights on. I would help her carry the tree into her basement and she would cover it until next year.
She's back to real.
That is what I do.

There is something you can buy that you hang on the tree that gives you that pine smell. You can buy them at Home Depot.
I can picture them but can't think of what they are called. When I think of it, I'll post.
Just thought of it. Scentsicles. They really are nice.
Thanks, I'll check them out...

That's what we do! I have an artificial pre-lit tree I bought from Q many years ago. It's held up rather well, but last season part of the lights went out. We tried to fix it, but had no luck, so we just strung a string of lights in the "blank" area...works for now.
But then I buy a FRESH wreath from Costco or some other source and hang it in the entry hall....the smell is wonderful!

We now do a pre-lit artificial and we love it. So much easier. When the girls were little it was always a real tree and it was a pain in the neck getting it into the stand, stringing the lights and always watching the water level. In fact we even down sized our artificial tree last year. One less thing to worry about around the holidays. I say go for it.

I stopped doing this many years ago but if I still did, it would have to be artificial.
I just hate that all those trees are killed every year.
It makes me very sad.

I prefer real trees, in someone else's house. One year my dad made us (siblings) get down on our hands & knees to pick pine needles out of the carpet after we "forced" him into getting a real tree when he wanted to buy an artificial tree. Lesson learned.
I stopped putting up trees years ago.

Now I'm thinking of the thread that plants feel pain. Do live Christmas trees feel pain when cut down?
