Here's something funny about the Jim Shore delayed orders.....

I heard a knock at my front door and saw the UPS guy walking to his truck....there was a very large box ...... what could that be..... any online orders had already been accounted for, I couldnt imagine what it was the return address rang no bells........so I bring in the huge box and started to dig through all those plastic pillows protecting the merchandise....there sat a very small jim shore sealed styrofoam package and in it was my mini candy corn cat---such a BIG box for such a small purchase....LOL!!!   At least I got it before Halloween

@Spurt I had something similar happen with something I ordered last Xmas. It wasn’t super-huge, but certainly larger than it needed to be. And the box I received, meant for a gift, was totally bunged up, with just the styrofoam inside - not like a “box” you’d expect to see with a figurine you’d buy in a Hallmark or gift store. I was kind of taken aback, because it isn’t attractive to give as a gift, to say the least - and it’s either leave it in the bunged up box or just stick the styrofoam in a gift bag. Neither are great presentations IMO :-(

Mine is due today, which means around 7:30 pm if I’m lucky. We are always last on the UPS route. In late November/December we routinely get our UPS packages between 9;9:45 pm - seriously.

Yep, it seems on the smaller items you dont get a box anymore.  But sometimes you want to store the seasonal figurines in a box or as in your case give as a gift with a nice presentation.  You can purchase a gift box to insert the styrofoam but why should we have to??? And it might look to the recipient that maybe it was a used item....

But I have noticed one thing, I know QVC customers have complained about no gift boxes on the mini pieces and I had ordered the small ornament of Santa And The Cat and DID get a regular JS box.......Maybe a solution would be to request one when if we order from the website......

Wow that is late for your delivery....I remember one time UPS did deliver something late it might have been around 8PM Central because I remember I was watching an NBA Spurs game with my sister and another friend......and games start at 7:30 PM....I almost didnt answer the door since it was so late..........

Re: Rant - Jim Shore website

@Spurt - so I’m not crazy. I could have sworn their things used to come in normal gift boxes, which is why I was surprised not to get them. Sounds like a cost-cutting measure, i.e. being cheap. An odd choice, since I’d think 50-60% of their sales are for gifts.

I agree, those who want an item for gift-giving should have that option. It seems a no-brainer to me, but not to them I guess.

It's funny because last year I ordered a mini angel holding a cat as a gift for my sister when her kitty passed away....and it was from Jim's website and it came in a small JS box.......I agee I think its just a cost cutting measure and they decided to do that instead of increasing the price
