Just observation - why are so many VERY OLD threads...

being resurrected & some are commented on by new member!

(complaints or general discussion )

How does a 2-3 year thread get started again? I'm just wondering.

I automatically write them off as trolls, who have nothing better to do than to stir up trouble.

I suppose that they get some sort of twisted pleasure out of doing it.

In my ever so humble opinion, I think that the mods should lock a thread if it has been a month with no activity on it.

Some people (new and other posters) just type in, say, 'Chocolate', and up pops a thread that is interesting.  I did the same a day or so ago.  No big deal, imo.   I mentioned Chocolate Covered Cherries and the 'Club' we had here on these boards years ago.  CCCC's   Chocolate Covered Cherries Club.   Heart

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

There is a huge difference between when an established member accidentally brings up an old thread, an when a "BRAND NEW MEMBER " does it.

When someone is "brand new", it reeks of what a troll would do.

Re: Just observation - why are so many VERY OLD threads...

The search feature for threads and posts are horrible.

I don't want to see threads from 2014 but I have written a post then realized it's old and deleted my post.

When I search for a thread or post, a list will come up "best match" but when I try to sort by Date, it doesn't work.   Just won't happen.

Re: Just observation - why are so many VERY OLD threads...

Isn’t it possible to see who bumped the thread and ask them?

I’ve found myself a time or two responding and then noticed how long ago it was but I guess it’s okay since we aren’t adding another thread and everyone says, (including me!) hey, we already discussed this in such and such thread.

I guess there’s only so much we can talk about on here but I’d be glad to never see another thread on dogs in planes, grocery stores, doctor’s offices etc. Lol
