@Kachina624   The Queen and Paddington Bear film was the best.

I love this and you know why I love it so much.  Not only did I think it was so cute and so clever but those children, Wills and Kate's children, loved it so much and they just laughed about Gan-Gan and Padington Bear, and that is how they will remember her when they too are old and gray.

Even though she was the queen, she was a very devoted mother and wife,

I don't consider her passing as sad, she's with Prince Philip again and forever.

She's with her creator forever.

Re: Random Posts About Queen Elizabeth

Queen Elizabeth II was simply remarkable throughout her lifetime. Performing her duties as long as she possibly could  - always loyal to the oath she gave many years ago. Then an hour before the announcement of her death rainbows appeared for all to see.  Tears are streaming down my face as I write this for I truly believe she is now with her beloved Prince Phillip. What a wonderful gift she was to England and to the world. No, I did not know her personally but I still loved her.

She had The Star Spangled Banner played at Buckingham Palace right after September 11.  During the changing of the guard.

I'm going to miss her generation. My dad is her age (96) and he is going strong as one of the increasingly few-left WWII veterans. That generation is so different from other generations in so many ways. The queen was one of many representations of that generation that is rapidly disappearing from our public worldview.

She had a great sense of humor, she will be sadly missed, a true Queen of Queen's.

Duty, service, consciousness of history;  and restraint, blessed under-sung restraint--  the way she hewed to those virtues over a lifetime, draw respect and provide an examplar to those who would take it.

Re: Random Posts About Queen Elizabeth

For a lot of us, she was always in this position from the time we were born!  I admired her composure and no nonsense approach to things.  I enjoyed seeing her bright, coordinated outfits with her hats.  An end of an era, such which will never be seen again.
