Re: RE: UKRAINE - BEST WAYS TO DONATE?

I have made a donation to Samaritans Purse.  This is a Christian organization run by Franklin Graham, Billy Graham's son. They are organizing a hospital to treat the wounded and will dispense medications to those who are ill. Please go to there website to ind out more. They do amazing work all over the world. I donated to them when they built the hospital tents in New York City to treat covid patients.

Re: RE: UKRAINE - BEST WAYS TO DONATE?

@honeybeagle , this was my first choice also and I will be sending more to them.  I am now looking in other areas where I can help.  As long as it all gets to the people in need that is what is important.

Don't forget our furry friends need donations too. To many animals in need of food and supplies.

Save Pets of Ukraine is one. I'm sure there are others.

Bless all you who have posted here.  Everyone has excellent suggestions.  We do give to the UN funding anyway, have done again, and another charity that seems to directly give necessities to people stuck in Ukraine.

I posted last week in a general thread about Ukraine.  I talked about the need for funding in Ukraine.  I also noted that I had called QVC Corporate to ask if they could run something online asking for thoughts and prayers for Ukraine, as well as some sources to give.  That was ignored.

The answer to me, and hearted by eight people:

”They need military help not dollars.”  When I told my brother about this, his comment:  “Don’t open your shirt because your heart may fall on the floor.”  An apt comment.

How very sad it left me.  And shocked, I will say.  A few stated they wanted to give, but I was chided for thinking a shopping channel would make a request for donations.  Now I see they are, but to a much different charity.  No longer a QVC shopper.

Re: RE: UKRAINE - BEST WAYS TO DONATE?

I am thinking of all the animals that are left ,with no one to take care of them,  they can not take care of them selves, a maine company ,is making ukraine flags ,to show your support, just adding that thought.

@honeybeagle   That is a great suggestion.  When Covid was pretty bad in my area, they built a temporary hospital to help with the overflow patients in my small town.  We are very grateful and I'm going to go to their website right now and check them out.

If you go to the Samaritan's purse website and scroll down, there are some videos explaining how they are trying to help.  Thank you again for suggesting this worthy group.

Re: RE: UKRAINE - BEST WAYS TO DONATE?

@goldensrbest   Of course Red Cross is also another option for donations. I saw on TV that a bomb landed in a zoo, unexploded. I hope the animals are being fed and cared for. They must be terrified by all the noise.

I saw a video of piles of clothing with one woman looking through it but not a lot of interest.

I pray this ends soon. Besides the tragic loss of life, Ukraine's infrastructure will be trashed, requiring billions to rehabilitate. The money poured into this war could've been put to better use around the world.

Re: RE: UKRAINE - BEST WAYS TO DONATE?

I donated to World Central Kitchem, an organization I contribute to often. I've also booked a room on Air B&B for a 4 day weekend in Kyiv this weekend. I dealt directly with the host who was very lovely and is sheltering those who have had their homes destroyed.

You, can go into gofundme! Mila Kunis and her husband Ashton Kuther are taking donations, and doing a great job. called, STAND WITH UKRAINE. If and when one is ready to give there are alot of safe avenues to do it, god makes a way.
