How come QVC is selling religion jewelry, the hosts are saying prayers and talking about the Holy Mother on QVC programing, yet if we even say a prayer or blessing on a thread, the post or thread gets removed? Maybe a moderator could enlighten me on this? I am asking out of confusion... and just want clarity. Thank-you.

I hope that you get an answer. My take would be that what the company sells has nothing to do with keeping a message board free of contentious subjects.
My other take is that I don't care for elaborate and blatant religious sales techniques or elaborate and blatant religious promotion of these boards.

QVC selling religious items and posters discussing religion on the forums are 2 totally separate things.
The difference is that it's against Community Standards to discuss religion here, because invariably the threads turn ugly and argumentative.
But you knew that already since this subject has been discussed here ad nauseum.

For real?

I personally think both should be allowed.

Pretty much anything on this board can and will turn ugly and argumentative.
Including religion into conversation used to be allowed on the Among Friends board, then not. I saw quite a few of those conversations, they rarely included ugly or overtly argumentative remarks.

I personally don't. For many reasons.

Why not? If it's civil and confined to one board only?

We don't have freedom of religion on the boards.I know most of the hosts seem to be religious from things they have said over the years and yes they do sell religious items but they never get around to representing all religions either....surprised they don't get complaints.

They have gotten comments about it here on the forums in Suggestions and Customer Care, and they are ignored. But I have to presume that when they have offered for example Judaica or Buddhist or Muslim items in the past, they never sell in quantities sufficient to keep doing it.
So, not financially viable on QVC - but HSN has a variety of religious & cultural jewelry and they continue to offer it, so it must be viable for them. Hmmmm....
