Re: Question for Moderators please

Two very different things.

Selling the item ..they are on a TV station that you can turn if you do not like the item being presented.  They are in the biz to sell and make money..so what they do on air..to encourage sales and what they want posters posting and battling each other over something that is not helping them is another thing.

This is their forum sponsored really for their convenience.. why should people come here and get into it over religion? This is not the place for it.  Offering a prayer for somebody losing their mother..or illness is one thing..but quite another when people start preaching.   This is their playground and if we do not like the rules and can't pull our big girl panties on..or boys britches..then we can find another playground to our liking.

I do not understand where people think that they owe us anything here. Especially being called out on something like this.

They DID allow it for quite awhile.  Some trolls showed up on Viewpoints, but some trolls showed up for just about any discussion.

When it was moved to Among Friends, the mods did a good job of pulling the few troll comments.  There was no reason I know of to take it away from people who were civil, people who offered a prayer for someone else.

The only reason I can think of is that people who thought like you complained.

And if you don't like the topic being discussed, choose another forum or another thread.

But we all know people like to argue and are even grumbling when they turn off what they don't want to watch on TV.

And it's not true that prayers can't be asked for, or offered, on the forums. It continues to happen fairly frequently. But there may be a post, and/or posters, who feel the need to cross a line in defiance of QVC and those *will* be removed.

Quoted scripture is not allowed (which is not, strictly speaking, a prayer anyway) and graphics which contain copyrighted material are not allowed. It doesn't seem to me that it would be too difficult to remember those things and not do them. But if they occur multiple times within a thread, yes, the thread may go. As it should for violating standards.

I personally think both should be allowed.

@goldensrbest  Well have to agree to disagree,  because I think religion is out of place on a shopping channel and it's community board.

Re: Question for Moderators please

Two different issues.

QVC presents spiritual or religious products for their customers who are interested and wish to purchase.  I would expect that during the presentations, the conversation would be of a spiritual nature.   Something QVC can control.

On the forums such subjects can become a free-for-all and I guess the Q decided that trying to keep them civil was too much of a challenge therefore, banning these subjects, including prayer or blessing threads entirely.

We don't know if the Q was getting complaints regarding the prayer or blessing threads.  You know people complain about every little thing.

As far as the hosts talking spirituality outside of a show relating to religious jewelry or decor, then if customers are offended they contact QVC Corporate.  They will most likely would address it with their hosts if enough of the consumers took issue.

How come QVC is selling  religion jewelry, the hosts are saying prayers and talking about the Holy Mother on QVC programing, yet if we even say a prayer or blessing on a thread, the post or thread gets removed?  Maybe a moderator could enlighten me on this?  I am asking out of confusion... and just want clarity. Thank-you.

Hello @SeaMaiden - I would be happy to answer your question. The Community Forums are completely separate from on-air programming.

In the forums, we have found that religious discussions almost always don’t end well and that’s not a friendly experience for anyone, so it is not allowed. Hope this helps to clarify. Thanks!

Re: Question for Moderators please

It's a huge board. I don't understand why people would even bother opening a thread they didn't like?  It's not as if you have no choice in the matter
