Maybe this thread should be started on the Q Talk forum.

I think the calls are just filler material for their hour on air.

If they would show more than 3 or4 more products an hour they would not need filler

Most of the phone calls are almost embarrassing to listen to, they need to fore go the phone calls.

Or how about the elderly ladies who are obviously medicated or into the 'sauce' before they call at night??

Get rid of these calls, they serve no purpose; I've never been swayed to purchase something because someone extols its virtues on a phone line!!

I have always said that the calls are done to help the hosts have some voice rest.

Typical call:

Hi, say hello Martha from Missouri!

Hi host of the hour, and hello Dennis (its really Louis but who's paying attention?) LOL

I have 15 of your sweaters and 10 of your jackets. I have every piece of your jewelry and everything is divine and classy!

Why does everything sell out before presentation? I really wanted the striped lace boucle top with the matching herringbone skirt!

You guys are hilarious.

And would you give a shout out to my husband's stepson in Tupelo? He used to live in Memphis but it was just getting too busy so he thought he'd try Tupelo.

Sure, what's his name?

Virgil.

Hi Virgil, Hi Virgil

Oh, thanks, I know he's watching because you're his favorite.

Awww, thanks, I really appreciate that

Um, I was wondering, do you all ever offer the planters that you used to have on your garden shows? I think they were kind of roundish and sat in a kind of holder and they came in the prettiest pink color. It wasn't salmon, but kind of close to that, and I just loved it but it sold out and I've been trying to find another one like it, but you know the stores here don't have nearly the quality and style that QVC has.

Yawning heard from host. Quick smile as camera pans onto host. and on and on and on

That is exactly what they are. Let someone else rave on about the products so the hosts can get a break. Hate the phone calls.

...on the other hand I have seen some truly hilarious moments with the phone calls.

The woman who went on and on about how awful the product was and it didn't work.

The person who said they bought 2 of the blouses because she used to be a man. Lea Williams would probably like to put an end to phone calls after that one. She handled it well though. Only stammered a little.

YES!!

I think they should keep the phone calls to late at night..when the deviants come out. They've gotten their best calls then.

Bob Bowersox got a call about a hand-held shower. She said she used it to pleasure herself. It was hysterical! Too bad it's not on youtube!!

I think I'm going to take a bit of verbal heat for this but, some of the QVC testimonial phone calls are good. It's nice to hear from real people about real results. The host and vendor can go on and on all day about how awesome the product is, but hearing from a person who actually tried the product is nice. Now yes, of course they're not going to let someone call in who only has negative things to say.

I agree - The phone calls are unnecessary. They don't determine whether or not I buy a product. I find myself mostly changing the channel or hitting the ""mute"" button when they get a caller. Some of the calls drag on and on. It's almost embarrassing for the caller.
