...on the other hand I have seen some truly hilarious moments with the phone calls.

The woman who went on and on about how awful the product was and it didn't work.

The person who said they bought 2 of the blouses because she used to be a man. Lea Williams would probably like to put an end to phone calls after that one. She handled it well though. Only stammered a little.

I'll never forget when they put Joan Rivers and Dennis Basso on together. They took a call and the woman mentioned that her mother had passed away and she had inherited most of her Dennis Basso coats and Joan jewelry. Well, Dennis must not have been listening because at the end of the call he waves at the camera and says "hi to your mom". And then Joan says to Dennis "you need to be waving skyward" and explained what the woman had said. Oh, it was funny!

since in this age the emphasis is on developing personal bonds between viewers and hosts through divulging personal info verbally or through social media, this is blowback. if the contact was built on products, product information this wouldn't be such a problem.

It is never the hardball questions - mostly gushing over the host and vendor. Stating your inventory over the air - number of handbags, buying one a family member because you love it so much. No need for them.Rather read the reviews.

I was watching Jay King in the wee hours of this morning....for every call they took....the Host more or less cut the person off ...with thank you for calling...and the person was gone...mid-sentence....I loved it....the hosts here should be allowed to do it...the Q hosts are way too nice to the callers and wait too long to tell them they have to hang up...HSN...lets them say about two sentences...that's it...at least that is what happened today...

{#emotions_dlg.w00t} I LOVE QVC bloopers. I think my very first thread I started on any of the boards was requesting blooper stories.

too funny, Deb.

I am another who would like to see the calls end. They are mostly cringe-worthy. Some of those poor souls sound just pathetic .

I hope I don't get into trouble for this, but go to youtube and type "QVC I like my Dell prank" in the search bar. The caller was talking about p0*rn and his new computer. Rick Domier was the host, but the call was fake and was edited for a late night tv show. It's still funny though. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Plus they love bragging about number of grandchildren or something about family. Does not belong on a home shopping channel. The host will agree with any color you pick, or whatever. They may care, but they are limited.

With Carolyn today, some caller started to say something, and she said, we have to go.

We can read the reviews, don't need the calls.

A good host ought to know how to get rid of chatty callers...fast. QVC should be more like ShopHQ and HSN who all but hang up on the callers. Their phone calls are very brief.
