Re: Princess Kate in green

[ Edited ]

I am always amazed, and intrigued by the tailoring on most of her suits.  Look at the stitching. The tailored fit, the way the seams fall over her body. I really applaud the tailoring and sewing , also the design of each suit.

I've always loved deep mallard and/or deep peacock blue-greens!

I will have to check out color charts, though.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I wish a lot of of young ladies had her as a role model and an idea of what a woman can be rather than some pop star; pretty, powerful, productive, down-to-earth, and nice.  Just nice!

If Kate hadnt married a prince, what would she be doing? How would she be earning a living? What is her talent and how does that talent translate to young ladies today, 99.9% of whom will never marry a prince?

She is lovely and a terrific representative for the royal family. She keeps her mouth shut and does as shes told. But I'm not sure how that is a role model for real women in the 21st century.

Princess Catherine graduated from college with a Master of Arts (MA) degree in History of Art  The Princess was the first spouse of a royal, male or female who graduated from college.  After graduating she did what many people whose parents have a successful business she went to work for Party Pieces.  The Middleton's sold the business in 2023.

I suppose she could have gone to work in a museum, galleries, auction houses ect...

She seems to be drawn strongly to textiles in the manufacturing of the field.

So she would be a working gal, just like all the other working gals with a college degree, unless she got a nepo job at her wealthy family's business.

Other than her gorgeous looks and fabulous style, she's got the talents or lack thereof of any ordinary person. Hardly a role model in today's terms.

Too  funny - criticize Meghan for her actual behavior  and it's hateful bashing.  But criticize Kate for being born to money and marrying the future King and that's what - just justified bashing?

I think that Kate is an exquisitely elegant role model & comes across as a caring, sincere & kind-hearted person.  She has a quiet refined dignity, & there is a glow & warmth about her. She doesn't seek the spotlight but outshines everyone around her.

People admire courage, wherever it shows up.  Catherine has demonstrated that, and well-wishers want her to surmount her diagnosis, illness, and the grueling treatment that was required.  She's a picture of grace.

Historically, royal and ruling families have a variety of people in them-- good, bad and mediocre.  Just like every group of people.  Kate married in, and immediately demonstrated that she could handle the job in the way it should be done.  Hard workers are welcome-- whatever they throw at you, persevere, smile, show some comportment, good humor and discretion. There's a reason she's so well-regarded.

Love to see her in this thread's images showing genuine enjoyment, respect and connection while doing her job.

Please point out where I bashed Kate. I simply stated I did not find her to be a role model for young women and that she wears the same outfit every year for St. Patrick's Day. Quite different from the vile criticism toward Meghan Markle.

I have never, ever heard one of my daughters' friends (who are the same age as Kate) describe her as someone they looked up to or wanted to emulate. Other than the fact she snagged Will, who they all thought was a hottie growing up.

Will a "hottie"?  Ugh, don't see it and never did but each to their own I guess.

O/T-- we all have our own preferences in who we deem hot. I always found Lenny Kravitz hot. And his voice--love him!
