Re: Princess Alice, Prince Philip's Mother

Off topic, I know,  but for those with a beginning interest in the British royal family, some interesting info.

King George V (grandfather of Queen Elizabeth), was a cousin of Tsar Nicholas V of Russia.  Pictures reveal an amazing facial resemblance.  In any case, King George denied the Tsar and his family asylum in England before the Tsar and his family were slaughtered.  There was great deal of political pressures involved with this decision.  Some think George V felt guilty about this for the rest of his life.

It is spooky the way so many of that family resembled each other @PamfromCT .  King George on the left and Nicholas on the right.

That's because their mothers were sisters.

Re: Princess Alice, Prince Philip's Mother

Prince Michael of Kent, son of Prince George of Kent(bother of Queen Elizabeth's father) looks so much like Czar Nicolas and King George V.   Definitely a  resemblance between all of them.  Also, did you know that Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany was a cousin to the Czar and King George?  His mother was Queen Victoria's daughter Victoria.
