Sadly cakers, everything has gone up. Everything.  I shop whole foods, traders and my local Raleys.  Raleys has really raised prices.  Since I am in there a few times a week, I really notice things I buy all the time.  The company puts less in can, or cuts an ounce or two off package here and there, then  Raleys raises the price.  A can that used to be a pound is 15 ounces or less.  Many pounds of bacon are not a pound, lol

@shoekitty  Isn't that the truth?  Smaller packaging, higher prices. 

We find ourselves picking up an item then putting it back.  The grocery list is never fully completed anymore.

There is a big difference when the price increase is for specialty coffee shops and when prices of nutritious food-fruits, veggies, etc. go up.

You can do without the fancy coffee shop; you cannot do without healthy foods.

If you can afford to buy coffee from coffee shops, great.  Enjoy.  But the prices are not going to remain stable or go down while the rest of the population is cutting back on food and other essentials.

I have found prices to have leveled off over the last few years, in most things I buy regularly. 

Groceries in particular (in my area) have come down, especially if you shop the sales. 

Wages are rising as the economy has improved vastly, and that will drive prices up, but I'd rather see more people working and making better wages. 

I am at the point in my life, that I don't buy if I don't like the prices. I'm well stocked on everything from groceries to household goods to clothing and shoes, and never need to pay a 'too high' price for things. Utilities and gasoline, can be different, those you have to pay whatever the rate is, but if I'm unhappy with the prices, I curtail my usage.

I shop a combination of Fred Meyer, Trader Joe's, Costco and Metropolitan Market (local small chain).  I always have four separate grocery lists going!
