Well, I don't see a pregnant woman as being handicapped anymore than pregnancy being categorized as a medical condition. It's a temporary natural condition and not as if any woman will be appreciating the closer parking more than a few months if that, more likely a matter of weeks, even days.

What causes women to be so hard on other women to the point of unnecessarily forcing a hardship on them? I don't even want to understand that level of cold heartedness.

I agree wholeheartedly with your post, Free2be. This isn't a constant condition (well, unless you are the Dugger women).

I would hope that women would be more sympathetic towards each other, but I guess not. The claws come out and then it becomes - well, 1/2 of the country has a bladder problem too so why do pregnant women get the perks?

it sounds like sour grapes to me.

it is called compassion to help a mom who is by herself, struggling with her newborn

Maybe a wider space for being able to open doors fully to access car seats?

Question: If you are in a bad way regardless of the circumstances, and need relief from a walk across a parking lot into a store -- if they have motorized carts, could you use your cell phone upon arrival to call for someone to bring you one of those carts out to your car?

Just a curious thought.

I bet they would at Wegmans.

So much angst over parking spots

Hardship?

Because some women tend to want to use their gender when its convenient for them-

I am woman hear me roar -but please save me a parking space..I'm pregnant or have a child...

A lady in my father's assisted-living facility does this when shopping at Costco. They also help her load her purchases into her vehicle and return the motorized cart to the store.
