How any poster here can know that he will be okay is a mystery to me.

The forum has lost too many posters due to the lack of respect for posters whose opinions are unpopular. No one has to agree, can think what they wish, but rude responses shouldn't be posted.

@SurferWife Just curious. Where did you get your medical degree? None of us know why this young man collapsed. All we know is that he is in critical condition and under sedation. Who are you talking about when you say "so many other young, healthy adults are collapsing and dying"?

@Trailrun23 wrote:Did they use a defibrillator on the player or just cpr? So fortunate so many medical professionals were there within seconds of his collapsing; nowhere else would he have had such immediate help. Prayers and more prayers.
@Trailrun23 even at High School Football games there is an ambulance and medical proffessionals. They are usually prepared.

@hckynutjohn... Omg really?!?!?!?' Then l guess this is a new "Trend" John...and do NOT respond back to me because l will not even read it! Besides, your posts take way too much time to read... You see l live in Buffalo and LOVE our Buffalo Bills. Everyone was shocked when this happened tonight (Sunday) especially the fans in the stands...even the Cincinati fans! NOT seeing the entire game I doubt was on anyone's mind...and by the way, they will be getting their money back! Times have changed, John. When something like this happens they don't just put him in the ambulance and re-start the game... Look it up...google it... Whatever... Geezzzzz....@EastCoastGal, @hckynutjohn I live in Cincinnati and while I was not in attendance tonight, I can promise you that the fans are not concerned about their tickets. Everyone here really is praying hard for Damar. There is no way these teams could have gone back out on that field after what happened. That was very traumatic for everyone, the teams and the fans. That would have been far too much to expect them to put that aside and go play. This was not the sort of tragedy you've likely witnessed before if you think they should have resumed play. I'd have been so upset if they had. They would have had to have been pretty heartless to do that. I don't know of a single other person who thought we should have still played. Nobody is complaining. At that point, the game no longer mattered. It's not us vs them. We all stand in solidarity in praying for this young man. Many fans have flocked to wait outside the hospital, both Bengals and Bills fans praying together. I'm proud that our cities can come together like this. We have our priorities straight.
@Qgirl26 and @EastCoastGal I'm really surprised that anyone would ask that question.

@Stelladorable wrote:@nevergivesup I'm going to guess the comment was meant as a bash against the vaccine. As in "so many young people dying that we don't know about". Only the people against the vaccination know about all those young people dying. Because they know the secret handshake to unlock the ark containing the secret scroll of names that main stream media won't report on and something, something, something potato.
Anyway, just my guess. Take it for what it's worth.
@Stelladorable I got the impression she meant that because he is an NFL foorball player, that's why we are hearing about him. I don't understand why that was even mentioned.

@Kalli wrote:Dh and I were watching the game. The whole situation on the field was so scary and heart breaking. From what I've seen on tv, the timing of the use of the defibrillator is critical if it's a case of commotio cordis. Been praying for him.
I saw this "Cardiac Arrest" happen to a St. Louis Blues NHL Player in a game years ago. He had gotten hit in the chest with a puck from a slap shot, and collapsed on the ice.
Same immediate treatment as you described for this NFL player, with defibrillator and all. Spent about 15 minutes on the ice before he was taken off on a stretcher or gurney.
The game was picked up right where they left off. I understand serious sports injuries, and even deaths during some of them. I have watched 2 Nascar Cup Raced, and been competing in Drag Races, where drivers have died. The races continued after all the proper care could be done for the injured drivers.
I could name even High School Basketball players that collapsed on the court or bench, then rushed to a hospital. The games continued.
There is danger in many sports, especially contact sports, and those with 3"X1" pieces of hard rubber flying around at 100mph. I have had many of my own injuries from these rubber discs, but never lost consciousness, just major deep lacerations and broken bones.
Never saw this happen before and I hope it is not a trend. These things have been around certain sports since their inception. Why things were done differently in this game? I read what you said about players and coaches, but what about the fans that probably spent 3 figures $$$ and didn't see a full game?
Hope you are doing well and riding, and have a Happy 2023!

I couldn't sleep last night thinking about this young man, continuing to pray for him and especially his mother.

@SurferWife wrote:He didn't collapse because of being injured. He made a tackle, jumped back to his feet then seconds later collapsed, like so many other young, healthy adults are collapsing and dying, but we don't hear about most of them. I'll refrain from opining further.
