@ThinkingOutLoud Frank Pavone is no longer a priest and should not be referred to as one. He was laicized (removed from priesthood) by Pope Francis in 2022 under very serious charges.

@Somertime Pope Francis also removed quiet a few clergy who opposed him or disagreed.
He allowed priests who abused children to continue with their job and never removed them nor would he condem them for their actions.
There is more. But he is dead and gone, so there is no reasons to bring up his past.
I am praying the next Pope is better.

@Carmie Your comment to me has nothing to do with my remark to Thiking Out Loud. She referred to her source as a Catholic Priest........I was correcting her statement that he is no longer a priest,

His passing right after Easter was fitting. Not sure about those ranking the Popes. I learned they are all considered infallible by those of his religion.

@Carmie How about focusing on the good he did. Your post is not appreciated by those who found him to be an inspiration. Do you attend funerals and point out all the wrongs the deceased did in their lives?

He was the best Pope in my lifetime. And yes, that is simply my opinion. He has taken Catholics out of the dark ages and shined a little light on a hope for progress and change. I hope his successor carries on in the same belief and manner that Pope Francis opened the door to.
@cody2 ^^^^THIS 💯 ❤️

No, I do not attend funerals and point out all the wrongs a person did.
If I don't like someone, I would not go to their funeral.
I also did not point out all the wrongs Pope Francis did out of respect. Yes, he did do good, but he did not always follow Christ's teachings. I won't mention what he said.
I just hope the next Pope is more in line with the teaching of the Catholic Church, Christ and scripture.
I didn't wait for this Pope to pass before I said that he was not right for the job. He showed me who he was when he was living.
I hope he is at peace, but won't pretend I liked him and yes, I am Catholic and went to Catholic school for 12 years.

Jesus gets us.
Pope Francis understood this.
One errant defrocked priest does not speak for me nor for so many Catholics who finally became aware that we are all to be regarded as one humanity. Including our animals and Mother Earth.
Christian
Jew
Muslim
Hindu
Buddhist
Jainism
Even non-believers
Gay
Straight
Married
Divorced
The list goes on
We are commanded to give to the poor, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the incarcerated, take care of each other, etc.
Jesus did not discriminate. Neither should we.
Doctrine which contradicts those teachings 👎
Forget the nay-sayers here.
Let it go.
