How sad...
We had a huge group of bees show up 2 years ago...I mean like in a ball...they covered most of one huge oak tree. I went in the yard...didn't see them...they blended into the color of the bark. As I stood there I heard an intense buzzing. Scared the heck out of me. Called our exterminator to ask what we should do...I mean it was 1,000's. He came to take a look and said leave them until the next day he bet they will have moved on...sure enough they were gone.
We've never had a swarm on our property but from what I've heard in the news, these don't move on and are easily provoked.
Africanized Bees are very aggressive. I thought these might be because they were huge in size...he said they were not but were another kind of aggressive bee. He seemed to know what he was saying.

I'm so sorry to hear this
. At least this poor dog was not left in a police vehicle, as has happened too danm many times in Arizona.
