I had to go to a Walmart I rarely use for a curbside pickup today.
When the (charming) employee came up to my window, he asked, "It's a hot day today. We have ice cold water and soft drinks right inside. I could add it to this order. Would you like me to bring you one?"
Oh no! They're turning the order carriers into cafe servers. I declined.
He then handed me a well-designed four color glossy sheet of paper which thanked me for being a customer and was signed by him. "Remember, five stars for me will mean a lot." At Walmart, if you leave feedback and mention an employee by name, they get a bonus.
Is this happening in other parts of the country?

Good grief ..... I'd bet that bottle of nice cold water would have cost AT LEAST three dollars.

Happy day! Something new to complain about.
It's 102° here today and my car AC isn't working. I would've said, "God bless you".

I think it's a nice gesture for them to offer drinks, easy to decline. As for giving feedback, this happens at so many places and I like that they offer employees a bonus that get great feedback. It sure would encourage good service.

@PickyPicky3 Walmart isn't reading your post. And how did this hurt you? This employee was doing their job. Get over it.

I shop Walmart in person and use the self checkout. My Walmart is smaller, and I really like the ladies that work the self checkout area early in the morning when I shop. After paying the five stars come on the screen and the customer can give them a rating. I always give a 5 star to them.

@PickyPicky3 We all have choices and if someone is offered a drink and wants it that's great! First thought to me was I'd probably go for it if I was thirsty.
Just because you don't want one or don't want to take a survey doesn't mean that an entire population feels the same.
I just don't get the requests to stop services, just don't use it!

In my area, picking up curbside always means at least a 10-15 minute wait. Having them go back inside to get drinks will just add to that.
As for the feedback and bonuses, I do it frequently. Do I need the equivalent of a business card from an order carrier? No.
Both these activities make an already slow system even slower.

@Kachina624 There was an earlier Please Stop complaint post today and loved @They CallMe MRWILKES response who said: " What does someone so disturbed by this do when they face a real crisis."
There seems to be a lot more complaining lately, maybe it's the heat.

@cjm61 I feel the same way. I enjoy completing surveys, usually the service has been exceptional and it feels good to reward that. And as you say positive feedback encourages continuing better behavior. Usually. Lol.
