I just had a knock on my front door.  It was the police.  Apparently my next door neighbor, a 95 year old, male shut in who used to be a professional photographer was taking photographs of me in my home for years.  He was posting the photos on a website dedicated to and run by people who are into voyeurism.  I haven't seen any of the photos, because the website was shut down.  Someone reported it to the police, they traced his URL, and he's been arrested. I can't say I feel violated, because the only windows that face his are my kitchen windows, and I'm not one to walk around undressed.  The best he could have gotten would be me working on my computer at my bar or cooking and eating.  How's that for a bizarre Saturday afternoon!

You may not feel violated .. but its right up there at the top of the

Oh wow!    I'm sorry.  Glad they told you about it and also glad that, at least, he wasn't able to watch other rooms.

But still - yeah, violated for sure.   

He's probably harmless but it's just the intrusive nature of it.

I'm kind of glad that my lot is kind of secluded.  It's right on a residential street, but I'm in one of the elbows of a 'U' shaped street and the way things are neither next door neighbor can see in my house.  In front I'm kind of secluded because the front of the lot is narrow and it widens out to the back.    The houses that surround me in the back are on streets that sit lower and the 6' fences around my house keep it private.

The police can't get you more detail of the photos.  I'd need copies of them for my peace of mind. You think they'd have them in his file from his arrest.  I wouldn't feel secure if I didn't have details.

@TenderMercies, I'm sorry that happened to you, that's awful! I wouldn't care that he's 95 years old, he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

The only thing that surprises me is his age.  I don't know why you don't feel violated, I think most women.  It's not about what he saw.  What matters is that he was stalking you, spying on you, photographing you without your knowledge and posting those pictures on a website for perverts.  It's good that the police are taking this more seriously than you seem to.

@goldensrbest I never met him.  There’s actually another neighbor that is between us, but her house is set far back, so the only thing separating our two homes is her lawn.  I’ve only ever seen him twice.  He would talk to the neighbor who was between us, and she and I are good friends.  She is going to be shocked when I tell her.
