I vote for phone conversations.

@QVCkitty1  Me too...it takes longer for me to type...LOL. I only have a 17 yr old basic flip phone and I think the last time I sent a text to m DH it was over 5 yrs ago...

Re: PLEASE don't text me if you want to have a conversation

I'm big on texting and messaging, even long conversations.

There are times when things get complicated for confusing and I do have to tell someone, "I'm just going to call you about this," for ease and clarity. Aside from that, text is much easier. I do still talk to my family on the phone, but most everyone else I text or message.

I actually hate talking on the phone. Even in high school before cell phones were big, my brothers were on the phone a lot more than I was.

Re: PLEASE don't text me if you want to have a conversation

I hate talking on the phone and used only about 10 min. all last month on my cell.  So text, email, or just tell me whatever it is if you happen to see me is fine with me.

Not me.  You can text me all day long, quick statement or long conversation.  Either way, it's ok with me.  I far prefer texting to actually talking on the phone.

Yep... & I love e-mailing.

Before I ever started texting, I thought it was just a strange way to communicate with friends and family.  Perhaps because to me it seemed so abrupt; kind of cold and off putting.

Then I started texting and now I understand.  It has its purpose.  I enjoy using it as a communication tool, but not exclusively.  I still enjoy face-to-face, telephone and even emails; each have their value to me.

That's how I feel too. Each has its own purpose.  I use all three - text, email, and phone  - all the time.  They all have a place in my life, and they all offer effective communication depending on the other person, the timing, reason for contact, and other factors.

Personally, I'm happy to have all of these options available, and I happily make use of all of them.

I always do voice text when I have a few sentences to say.  Hey - I'm still talking....

That's how I text almost all the time.  :-)

You text people you do not want to talk to....

I don't think that's true at all.  It certainly isn't true for me.

Re: PLEASE don't text me if you want to have a conversation

I have never texted, and have no desire to.

I love hearing people's voices. A person's tone of voice can convey much more than sentences full of abbreviations.

Re: PLEASE don't text me if you want to have a conversation

My sister does not text and has many medical issues.  It ususally takes many tries to actually get her on the phone and if she calls me back I am in the middle of something.  I would like to have a nice long conversation on phone  but would like to text her in between just to see if she is okay.  So I like both.
