Just wondering how many of you get a regular pedicure and if anyone has had any bad experiences i.e. infections, fungus, etc.....

No problems. I checked out the salon, got recommendations, called the local board of health for any problems.....
I did my homework.

I have one once a month. The woman who does them has been my nail tech for 20+ years. Once she got the massaging pedicure chair a couple of years ago, I was signing up. I know her, I trust her, I've watched her clean/sanitize it. I know how she treats the 'tools of the trade'. No violations. I've had nothing but success.
But if I were going somewhere new I'd be checking them out for state violations, cleanliness, products used and precautions taken.

If they have jets, they are not safe unless they thoroughly clean after each use--which they clearly do not do.
I got a mild fungus. I went to a fabulous salon. Buyer beware.

You could not pay me to get a pedi in a salon!

I know I have been told by a nail tech that they really cannot clean them good enough. Some are better at trying than others.

One can ""check"" out the salon all they want. If they use jets they are not safe. End of story. NO SALON cleans jets out--and all working parts-after each client. Caveat emptor.

Hi Scottie. It doesn't matter if they "try". If they don't take apart all working pieces between each client, they are not clean. I learned the hard way.

And you know they don't do that.
I had one once and watched the gal run bleach through the cycle. My other tech told me that wasn't good enough. They just can't get it all out.
