I thought they could have had more older presenters, icons of movies, presenting at the Oscars. Most of the presenters were all young people.
That's fine, they are the future (some of them), but some older movie stars should have been asked to present. One day they will all be gone. It just struck me that I didn't really see any actors or actresses over 60.

Didn't Morgan Freeman, Louis Gossett Jr., and Quincy Jones each present an award?

The universal rule is that only 5 actresses over 50 can be acknowledged by the Academy - or anyone else: Helen Mirren, Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Meryl Streep, and Betty White.

@deepwaterdotter Yes they did. In addition, add to the "at least 60" list: Whoopi Goldberg, JK Simmons, and Joe Biden. Julianne Moore presented also, but she's a mere 55.

This is why I no longer watch the Oscars. I don't know who any of the people are anymore, and truth is the newbies don't interest me. Do I feel I am missing anythng? NO NO NO

I guess I missed some, but I'm surprised there weren't more. I have to say I think they tried to make amends for the lack of diversity in awards by the presenters they chose.
Where were Meryl, Jane Fonda, Helen Mirren? I'm just saying the presenters were a lot younger than in year's past.

It may not be that they are not asked, it may be that they do not wish to do it.

It is possible that not everyone asked to present, wanted to present.
I've watched the Awards for years and as I remember, icons usually presented only when they'd won in recent years.
It's always been about bringing in a younger viewing audience.

What struck me was the uniformity of the presenters. It appeared that the Academy went overboard to counter the lack of diversity. It appeared that every black actor/musician in Hollywood was a presenter.

I wish. My favorite of favorites was not there (among others), Denzel.
