One Of The Prettiest Fall Seasons In Years.

This is one of the prettiest falls we have had in a long time.  Lots of sun, vibrant colors that have lasted a long time.

In the last few years it seemed we got so much rain and wind the leaves  just got wet and were blown off.

This is our third gorgeous Saturday in a row.

DD had a hair cut at 9am, I had my flu shot scheduled at CVS at 10am. We left at 8:15 got coffee at Dunkin, she got her cut, then my flu shot (CVS was 1/2 mile from salon). Drove to a town 25 miles away and did some shopping.  DD decided take us around a huge lake on the way home. We stopped for cider and apples and hit Weis for a few things.

We were gone for 4 hours, it was a beautiful drive.

What is your fall like this year?

Mine, like yours, is more beautiful but due to the lack of rain.  We have not had a decent rain, only a couple showers since April in an area which is usually so humid you perspire under A/C.  This year, NADA.  Not a drop of rain all summer long.  I think some evil people are messing with our weather.  Our rich farmland is becoming a desert and all the floods and torment are being sent to Florida.

Re: One Of The Prettiest Fall Seasons In Years.

The situation with the Mississippi River is really concerning....

I bet by late fall prices will start to rise even more because of all the products that move on that river that can not now.

I live in PA, and seem to only recently began to see stories about that river and how low it is....Coupled with the whole dry west and parts of the midwest where a lot of the food is grown....doesn't look good...

I wonder sometimes if the Great Lakes will be next. I live near Lake Erie....and even where I live in the NW corner of PA, it's been pretty dry here this summer...

I agree this fall has been gorgeous...I live against the Allegheny National Forest for my yard, and the trees are spectacular. It was cold here last week, but today it hit 75 on my porch....all the windows open!!!

I live on a ridge top, and I have gorgeous nasturtiums blooming around my patio. What a ton of color from a packet of seeds and a handful of soil!!! They will die at 31 degrees, but so far, so good. The valleys here had hard frost already, but not up here yet....

Tthe nasturtium plants  are covered with flowers. They like sun and  poor dry soil. I literally put two handfuls of soil into a depression in the white decorative stones, and they grow like crazy all summer!!! Very little water and lots of sun. If you feed them, you get a lot of leaves and no flowers....I always feel bad when they finally get nipped by frost....

Enjoy the colors if you got 'em...real winter will be here soon enough!!!!

In western NC, we have had color which peaked a few days ago.

The next higher elevation had just had the color and the leaves were falling off.

It's beautiful in SE PA too!  I took a drive in the country this afternoon with DS to pick up some treats from a certain bakery for my DD's birthday tomorrow.  We took the long drive (an hour each way) for a drive mostly in the back winding roads of Bucks County...so pretty and the colors are vibrant!

Hoping the natural beauty of the season can lessen the 'ugly' of mans' mischief-making.

It is beautiful in Maryland this fall.  We had lots of rain throughout the summer and the leaves are very pretty.

We are in the 60's during the day and 40's at night.

I wish we could keep this weather all year.

@Othereeeen    We'll be in a fine kettle of fish if barges can't navigate the Mississippi and then there's a railroad strike AND Christmas!  What else can happen?
