News reports over the last few days say that there is now proof that Olympic athletes from the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics were using performance enhancing substances. So far 75 have been identified, and 40 of those won medals.
WHY does it take so long to find out these details?
I feel sorry for those who missed medals because the doped up athletes stole them.
It seems there is just no fairness - just cheating, cheating and more cheating. What a sad commentary on the drive to win at all costs.

In general, re: Various sports and the trickling down effect: Some parents 'turn the other way' when they know that their kids in various sports are using all sorts of very high caffiene, high-energy powders in their drinks. It all adds up later on in their kids' lives. Couldn't be too good for their bodies and their health, used long-term. Sometimes (underline Sometimes) sports end up being counter-productive, health wise. Just my observations; jmo.

The Olympics are not what they used to be.

It starts young!
Have you ever been to a kids soccer or hockey game? Sometimes the parents and grandparents are pushing so hard. It's really obnoxious, encouraging the anything to win mentality.

Performance Enhancing, in this case, isn't a bad Redbull or some whey powder they got at GNC. They are the drugs, Stanozolol or Turinabol. Heavy duty, knowingly taking, good old-fashion cheating drugs. Yes, it does start young. For many, the contract these kids get when winning is a family meal ticket...and everyone looks the other way.

I've been mostly worried about the vast amount of caffeine in each teaspoon of some of those powders. After reading the canisters, etc. We know several of the 'sports families' with kids around here, and they have tons of empty containers thrown around here and there, lol. (Well, not very funny.) As far as the very harmful 'other stuff', I don't know anything about that (around here, that is).

Let them all dope. Then they would all be starting at a higher level, that's all.
