Do you think it takes courage to post here?

It's far more peaceful than it used to be. You have to be open to the fact not everyone will agree with you, and there are still people who want to argue, but I would suggest giving it a try. You will make some friends along the way. The more that post, the more fun it is IMO

I think it would be great if they offered being able to send PM's to members if we wanted to Smiley Happy

@cherry

Courage and the ability to sit on your hands once in a while for certain always argumentative posters, who insist on finding fault with anything you post, LOL!

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I agree. I have a couple of offline friends from here.

I don't comment like I used to . People can make me so mad.

Your not able to say anything any more either. To much repression.

I think there are some argumentative people out there, but I don't see it very often anymore on the posts.  I have discarded many posts knowing it could ruffle some feathers.

You have to be able to not take things personally.  I don't typically post on threads that are really negative or heated.  I have no interest in getting involved.

In real life you can avoid those people who you want to slap the **** out of, but, here when they attack you, you have no recourse. Their right to attack you is protected, but, your right to defend yourself is not granted.

@SharkE It's best to ignore people like that. I think they are only trying to get a rise out of you

Re: Do you think it takes courage to post here?

I post for information mostly.  I don't watch QVC live.  I am too easily sold things I don't need and only want at the exact moment.  I also post to share just in case I have something of interest.  I also post to say a few happy thoughts and to support people who seem to need a bit of help, questions, loneliness, whatever.

I am not afraid.  Heck I am a retired teacher, YOU CANNOT INSULT ME.  I HAVE HEARD IT ALL, SOMETIMES IN THE SAME DAY.  lol

Re: Do you think it takes courage to post here?

Courage? Not for me, no. Experience posting on forums in general is valuable here, especially to experience "types" of posters and typical personalities and responses seen online.

This forum is far less contentious in general than many others out there.

Posters need to understand that not everyone will agree wholeheartedly with everything they say, and that others will express their opinion of your opinion. That's what forums are for. It's how you react and respond that creates the view others have of you.

There are bullies, meanies and pot-stirrers on every forum. You learn to deal with them; they aren't going away.
