I promised myself tonight I would sit down and get caught up with my special friends that have left me postings and I have not gotten a chance to reply. I’ve really been tied up with Roy and his surgeries, picking up the slack with the watering of the new sod 2 times a day when Roy was unable to and then I had an “unplanned” surgery. Ugh!

MK, Cindy, and MarLoCat – Roy is doing well and the surgeon gave him the OK to do whatever he wants as long as he uses common sense when lifting.

I had a lovely b’day and spent it in Geneva-on-the-Lake, OH where we used to have our property, boat and spent 11 summers there. Have not been back there in several years so that was my b’day wish as to what I wanted to do. We met up with friends, visited with them on their boat and then we had dinner at the Lodge. Perfect day.

We postponed our trip to La in July and our DS and DGS’s understand. If nothing medical or otherwise creeps up, we plan to spend the winter in La – something we have wanted to do for several years. Our youngest son is building a new home and it will give Roy something to do to occupy his time during the day. No construction or electrical work – he just wants Roy to oversee the construction while he is at work. Right up Roy’s alley – he always has to be doing something. LOL

Cindy ~~ we had ALL our grass removed and sod installed. In 2012, we had new construction on the house and it played havoc with our grass. You are very knowledgeable about landscaping and I know you are familiar with pavers, blocks etc. We now have pavers in front of our barn with a 4 ft. wide circular walkway from the barn to the back patio. Alongside the barn, we have Victorian stone planters, Belgium block, and pavers lining the pathway to the patio. Around the concrete patio, we have River Rock and Belgium block edging that is carried all around the perimeter of the backyard, along the sides of the house and back up to the front of the house. In the back I have a variety of annual planters sitting everywhere on the River Rock. The shrubs, flowering plants/bushes, perennial flowerbeds are flanked by River Rock and Belgium Block. The front of the house, specifically under my bow window, it is terraced down with small pyramidal evergreens, azaleas, day lilies, and several perennial flowers; Gaillardia, Achillea and Dianthus and two large rocks as focal points. The Jasmine – which I wanted over any other plant – I still did not get. Thank you for the suggestion but I found them online at several nurseries but not sure, what I am going to do. They are in small 4” pots; I want a larger plant and would like to see what I am buying. So that’s it, Cindy you wanted to know the rejuvenation that went on, so glad it is over and done with. It looks pretty and after the miscommunications - we love it!! Dee

MLC ~~ Lucky is doing very well. He wasn't a happy kitty when all this was going on. He is somewhat a "scaredy cat", does not like change or noises he is not accustomed to. He would sit in his cat tree in the sunroom and look out the picture window keeping his eye on all these unusual creatures invading his space. However, he felt safe and out of harms way because he was on the 2nd floor. Once he was allowed back outside he had to rub against everything and his nose was getting a good workout. They really are fun! I think of you and Kitty often. I understand your reluctance (at this time) to think of another furry friend. I would have the same apprehension and would have to do a lot of thinking about another kitty. Please keep in touch - love hearing from you - when you drop in.

MK ~~ All the activity at the house should be winding down for you with your GS's graduations over with. We both have GS's going into HS in the fall. I know you are looking forward to your annual 'get away' with the FL and MO families; lucky you! It will be a change of pace for me to have kids around again when we go to La in the fall. I think I am looking forward to it. LOL
