Re: OUR SUGGESTIONS/COMPLAINTS

I don't think $3.00 is very much for shipping.  I just placed an order from two of my catalogs and the shipping for two items from one was $12.99 and for two items from the other was $14.99.  When I order from my shoe catalogs the shipping is between $12 and $15.  And no, if you return the item, they do not refund the shipping fee and you pay to return the item $8.95 not the $6.95 QVC charges.  Once in a while they will offer $5.99 shipping and occasionally free over $75. But for the most part, the shippling is high.  I know some places do have free shipping, but not from the catalogs I like.

I think they have to ask first, if they're interested. JMO.

Just for the heck of it, I looked back at beauty threads and fashion threads over the last few months. They're almost as repetitive as QVC's programming.

Nothing is being accomplished by our pointing out the obvious. It's clear that with all the complaining and unhappiness, enough merchandise is purchased so the Q is willing to sit just below the profit line instead of crossing over from red to black. Makes no sense to me, but very little about how things operate in this company makes sense to me.

I agree with you.  Q lacks satisfactory interest in its customers but that doesn't mean people should sit back and quietly accept it.  People should continue to complain.  Maybe someday, enough people will realize that 90% of their products can be purchased for less (with free and fast shipping) from other retailers and do that.  Q might do something but only if the bottom line goes low enough.

If you think about it, the complaints here on this board don't amount to a hill of beans. Just a grain of sand in the desert compared to those that are viewing and buying.

Yep, even if all 2,380 currently online complained it wouldn't raise an eyebrow.

What if we all did it at once?

Let's see, most items have sales of 10, 50 even 100 thousand or more I don't think even everyone online complaining at once would be more than a curiosity.

There is also the fact that if all 2,000+ did complain at one time the complaints would be about at least 1,000 different things, mostly multiple things.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

Re: OUR SUGGESTIONS/COMPLAINTS

Good morning @Kachina624 & belated Happy Mother's Day. Re: my subject above....When I did look back through months of the complaints, at least 80% (estimate) were saying they no longer watched or shopped on Q.

So where is their revenue coming from? I'd love to see these folk's QVC account statements. I think there's a lot of "me, too", but still purchasing. That's why they don't read what we need or change in any way. We need an old fashioned 60's "sit in" or group refusal to purchase for just one month. I guarantee they'd sit up and take notice.

Sorry, but I think a shipping cost of $3 is quite reasonable.  Buying online not only saves the time and gas you'd spend when shopping at a mall, but all the hassle.  I think it's a fair trade.    My time is certainly worth more than $3 an hour, so I'm happy to pay it and avoid the B&M stores when I can.   (Sorry, Bloomingdales!)

Buying online offers us what I call the "convenience factor".   IMO, this is especially meaningful during the holidays.   There's a lot to be said for shopping any time of the day, even at midnight in pajamas, and having the item delivered to your door.

I think most people realize that places that offer free shipping are getting that money back in the prices charged for the items being sold.   It has to come from somewhere.   Is there really any difference purchasing an item for $17 and $3 shipping .....  or $20 and free shipping?   People must realize they are still paying, one way or another.

If it really bothers someone to pay shipping costs, then stop buying online and go spend hours in the brick and mortar stores.

BTW, there is a thread category called Suggestion Box for making suggestions.

Re: OUR SUGGESTIONS/COMPLAINTS

I heard DV yesterday say he was doing 4 hours of ITKWD with no TSV presentation, which was the Clarks shoe.

Somebody's reading.

Then why do you keep continuing to point it out?

To respond to your shipping scenario, I believe QVC gets discounted shipping for items sold in bulk, like a TSV, coming from one warehouse, as an example.   I don't think all shipping should be passed to the customer if the shipper is getting a deal.   And I've dealt with shipping enough in a past life to know that volume = discounts.

I could not ship a pair of shoes to you for $3, but QVC can ship thousands of pairs of shoes for that much or even less.   IMHO $3 shipping is competitive & fair.  Free would be awesome.

Sorry, but my coffee hasn't kicked in, I guess.  Who is giving the shipping discounts?   Do you think the USPS gives a discount if the retailer sells large amounts of ... whatever it is?   I've never heard of this.
