There are plenty of memes and video parodies of millennials too, and we've all seen the nasty comments here about the younger generation. I guess it's a ****** for tat kind of thing. I'm a Gen X'er, so I'm caught in the middle. lol

Someone calls me that I will own it! I rode my bike or walked to school. No gas guzzling ride for me. I recycled from day one as my parents taught me too. I joined the military. I respect my elders. I penny pinch. I conserve water. I use my appliances at night during peak summer hours. I know how to count back change all on my own. I knew how to set the time on a VCR. I wrote my first rent check at age 18. Some says that to me I say " Thank You"

@Cumbercookie13 I already know I probably will still be working into my 70's if I'm still here and still healthy.
There are many, many boomers working still in their 70's. Not all are healthy, but they work just the same because of the same reasons most people do. They need to pay medical bills, for medications, food, and the have a roof over their head. Every year can seem harder than the last but all endure and do so because they must. Good luck and good tidings to you for your future.

I had no more say as to when I was born than they did. Yep, I'm a boomer, and you can thank my mom and dad for that.
We're all doing the best with what we've been given.

It's just a term that means a pompous, old fashioned, intolerant person.
Younger people call each other Boomers when the shoe fits. So it's about attitude, rather than age. I'm GenX and I hope I never get told OK Boomer unless it's as a joke. But if I do, I'll take a look at what might have caused that reaction. It's hard to stay up to date sometimes.

I have an idea! WRITE THEM A NOTE IN CURSIVE! That'll fix them! Or if you're out to dinner ask them to figure up the tip, or pay in cash and ask them if the change is right!
Then they can shout BOOMER all they want! All the while wondering what that note said or how much of a tip the waiter got!
You just answered where Ok Boomer comes from.
LOL

I heard it for the first time yesterday, in two different articles. I hope to never hear it again. I think I woud have two words to reply with if anyone said that to me.

For anyone interested , here is the name of an article on a site called kasasa dot com-
"Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, and Gen Z Explained"
Since many don't like links, I recommend looking it up if you want an interesting and up to date explanation of the post WW 2 generations and their monikers- it even has income, savings, spending comparisons. I found it very informative , one reason being that I had NO idea both my sister AND my daughter fell under the "Millennial" tag.

I feel like putting OK Boomer as my signature quote thingy. But I won't. Because I'm too mature for that. Still want to though.

ME: I totally disagree with your assumptions. A "Millennial", aka: "GenY"( which is further divided into Gen Y.1 and Gen Y.2)- is a child of both Boomers and Gen X'ers, such as myself (born1969). That these adults cannot make change, read cursive, etc. is just silly since that generational tag applies to those born in 1980 through 1994.
My daughter, born in 1992, is somewhere between a young Millennial ( Gen Y.1) or an older "Gen Z". She worked since she was 15, often in retail and w/out the aid of a "modern cash register" and, GASP!, made "change" in her head. And yes, she and all of her friends can read and write in cursive.
I know of no one born in that time frame , aside from those who went uneducated, who were not taught cursive , how to count 'change', etc. My "Millennial" younger sister is a doctor, for goodness sake ( the child of "Boomers").
So NO!, you're ideas will NOT 'teach them' a thing- unless the cursive you throw at them is illegible.
I base what I said on what I have heard from friends and relatives who:
Work at a University
Teach
Work with students in city-run programs and elsewhere
They are VERY VERY concerned about the level of education in today's youth. It's not just the ones in my state either. It is kids from around this country, ALL economic levels.
