@terrier3  80% of down and feather used globally are produced in....China.

Members of the AFDC must sign affidavits that their products are made soley from harvest after death since live plucking is illegal.  I'm not confident that we can be 100% sure that any products using feathers have been harvested humanely, however.

Just sayin'.

I wonder what kind of feather bed they're selling for $89?  It has a 2" gel top layer of something. . . Cuddledown's feather beds cost around $600-$800

Feather beds? Makes my many times disc ruptured back hurt just reading the words. If there is a worse thing for most to keep a healthy back, I haven't a clue what it might be.

Just think how the little birdies feel---those downey feathers don't just fall off and get collected.

@Lucky Charm, best post on this thread.  Even if they were comfortable, I still wouldn't buy one because of how they get those feathers.

The only feather bed mattress I ever slept on was in the upstairs bedroom at my grandparents house.  I stayed with them a lot as a teenager, and hated sleeping on that mattress.

Never liked feather beds...or feather and down pillows (which we have right now). I'm tired of being stuck in the neck by feathers! Supposedly, only the core is feather and the outside is down, but somehow those feathers are leaking out. They will soon be out of here!

I have used a featherbed all my life. My father was from Germany and we always had one!

I just noticed that QVC doesn't sell them any more.

I need one for a too hard spare bed...I saw that they are available at Macy's and Overstock.

I wonder why QVC stopped carrying them ? or are they a seasonal product?

Anyone know...

I have a feeling that featherbeds used to be made a lot better than they are now.  I've owned a few of them from Qvc over the last 10 years and every single one of them had quills that poked through (despite being told they didn't), they shifted (despite being told that they were channeled in and would not move) and went flat in no time at all.  They are cumbersome, hard to carry and hard to launder.  I will never buy another at least not from Qvc.

@terrier3   HSN just had one as their special value over the weekend.   If you can't find one maybe you can find one on their site.  Good Luck!
