I have the oval covered piece as well and between those two pieces, I could pretty much toss everything I have cause I only use the other stuff if I'm making more than can be done in my 2 belleek pieces.
Thanks for the info on the baker. I don't have a dishwasher, so am glad to know this. The one Corning Ware 5 qt. baking dish I use for my 3 hour stew in the oven will always be with me.....that is all I use this for......but maybe they will come out with more of those bakers in future years, and eventually I can get rid of my old ones.
When I received my first 3 piece set of Corning, there was also a twist on handle that came with that.....that was so great to use when cooking on the top of the stove. I will always keep using that as long as I use my Corning...... I love to cook my asparagus in my old Corning on top of the stove.

...people who have no or limited access to authentic Irish goods.

I'm Irish and although I don't watch all day, it's nice they have these shows on St Pat's Day. I have picked up a couple of nice jewelry pieces. Wearing a Connemara marble shamrock necklace right now!
I've always thought the Irish sweaters looked nice but I, too, would be hard-pressed to wear any kind of wool. I'm a cotton girl.
I'm happy to have ALL everyday type stuff, from clothes to linens and bedding, in all cotton.

In some parts of the country it will be sweater weather until July. The last time I checked, you could still put a sweater in a drawer until you want to wear it.

That's what I thought too....guess we're just a couple or rocket scientists!
I usually buy my winter clothes on clearance this time of year - great prices and the stuff doesn't go bad!

With the cold winter we have just had, believe me, I wore my sweaters a lot. I don't wear my Merino wool items directly on my bare skin.....always wear either a crewneck, turtleneck, or mock turtleneck top under it.

When not wearing my Merino wool sweaters, I have a cedar lined cube in my living room that I have had for a long time, and that is where I store mine......keeps the little critters out of my wools.
