Re: Neighbor’s House Paint

Being upset because a neighbor chose to paint their house the same color as yours? RIDICULOUS.

Forget that "imitation is the sincerest form of flatterey."

Copying is just not cool.

How many people have gotten into trouble for plagiarizing?

I know that isn't the same, but said to illustrate copying others isn't exactly loved by others.

I don't agree that not wanting to be copied means one has a sense of entitlement.

Re: Neighbor’s House Paint

@Biftu Is this a sarcastic post or are you for real?  I can't belive that someone would be annoyed with a neighbors house color?

Where do you live?  In my area, minus HOA's, no one cares about house colors, trim colors, and door colors.  If you object so much, just move, or repaint.  Such nonsense.

And if you are really serious, If I were your neighbor, I would try to move immediately away from you (or let my yard grow uncontrollable to spite you).  Be careful what you wish for..  you may start a neighbor war over something as mundane as gray house paint.  LOL

Sorry, I have to respond to this, the OP isn't objecting or going on about it....we all are.  She just posted about some thing annoying her....I don't think she's as passionately upset as you are.

Just because it doesn't bother you personally doesn't mean it's nonsense. You don't need to be so rude to her.

We're all just discussing it.

@Biftu Are the houses the exact same style?  If not then it's just the colors that are the same?  Are the yards landscaped the same?  Driveways identical?  Fences?  I'm just wondering how identical the houses are.  I've seen houses side by side that were different styles but the same color and i actually didn't realize they were the same colors since I was looking at the style.

@eadu4  Not all the houses are the same.  It is an older neighborhood and many houses, like mine, have made changes and additions.  Though a bit different, the house painted like mine is pretty much the same as mine. There is not another house on my drive has the same color house until now.

@new nickname 4  I happen to be an excellent neighbor.  I'm very blessed to live in a great neighborhood where everyone looks out for each other.  We have been through good and bad times together. There will be no "war" over paint by any means.  These people are new neighbors who seem very nice.  I actually had them over for coffee when they moved in.  I was simply disappointed they copied my house paint.  Wow, I can't imagine you would retaliate in ways you state.  Talk about a bad neighbor!  Don't make such harsh statements about people you don't know -- that is what is "nonsense."  LOL.

@Biftu with the utmost respect perhaps you should have considered adding in to your opening post with what you said later to @new nickname: "I happen to be an excellent neighbor.   "I'm very blessed to live in a great neighborhood where everyone looks out for each other.  We have been through good and bad times together. @eadu4  I am annoyed.  I never said I was highly upset. It took me by surprise someone would do that or even want their house painted like mine since they are right next door.  I was quite surprised by a few of the posts.  Actually  I was out trimming this morning  and my neighbor across the street came over just to chat.  After a while she mentioned she was surprised to see my new neighbors painted their house just like mine. She was surprised at this too and said guess they just don't care.  What bothers some may not bother others, no need to be nasty.  I'm past it.  What is done is done.

@eadu4

Really? Do we need to include a novel with every post?

Her post did not seem like she was highly upset to me but what difference would it make if she were anyway.

How would the level of her upset-ness justify some of the more heated responses.

Man, it's gonna make it so people are afraid to post anything.

Re: Neighbor’s House Paint

I guess they loved it on your house!  Sorry the happened... Annoying, very. There is nothing you can do, except repaint yours... Just let it go-

It can be so hard with neighbors- Not worth creating a rift!
