Re: National Do Not Call Registry

When I first signed up, the information given was that you had to renew it in 5 years. It only took a couple of days for the calls to stop. I need to sign up again.

I get those pesky calls all the time now. Even several a day from the same places. If I get one more call about that emergency button you wear around your neck, I think I'll scream!

Re: National Do Not Call Registry

My landline is a voice/fax line and after 4 rings they get the fax noise in their ear. It has dramatically reduced the the number of calls I get from telemarketers.

Re: National Do Not Call Registry

If it is someone you have done business with in the past or like was stated, a charity you have given to, it does not fall under the parameters of the DNC list...

This is what I do. I almost never answer the landline phone. If it's someone I want to talk to, I will call them back. Family know to call my cell (which is glued to me, LOL) if it's something important.

I just block nuisance numbers on my phone. Some vacation people keep calling, so I blocked their number.

Please tell me how to block the numbers. I just have my cell and my husbands, no landline.

I went to settings, couldn't find anything to block.

Consider yourself lucky if you have a reasonable number of contacts to block. At one point, we had 35-40 calls daily from "charitable" organizations (clearly, we were on the sucker list). They share the lists and often the same organization has multiple numbers.

Non-profits should be included in that law.

sign up for the national do not call list, as well, as your state's. Sign up your landline's and cell phones.

I'd take it to a Sprint store or if Walmart has one of those phone stores in your local walmart and they sell Sprint phones they should be able to show U or take in a list of phone numbers you want blocked and either Sprint or maybe the walmart person can do it for you.

Works for me. Sign up for your state's do not call as well as the national. Most people don't know that.
