@chessylady - that just isn't true. Check the IRS website for tax rates based on income.

@JeanLouiseFinch that chart is a standard rate chart. Rich people employ attorneys to search out obscure exemptions that they use to avoid taxes. The complicated tax returns of the rich are rarely audited because the IRS does not have the personnel or expertise to explore them. Consequently, the middle class returns are more audited than the wealthy. Now with cuts, even fewer tax returns will be audited. Our bought and paid for congress passed the numerous laws that enable the rich to get richer.

We live in a small town about 20 minutes from the big city I was raised in. So many new additions coming our way and so many farmers selling their land for 3 acre home  additions.

Honestly I hate to see that. I told my husband in a matter of years all these  big cities will be here in our small rural towns.

We rarely see our deer anymore. So many farmers selling their land and woods.  I'm

so happy I was born in the era I was where there was room for both man and beast.

Sadly, that's yet another thing I think we are losing.  Sometimes what we think is going

"forward" actually is taking us backward.

Just my opinion.

@JoyFilled Warrior  Thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate it. I feel really good about doing it. I just no longer want to sit by and not do or say anything, especially when it is something I am so passionate about. I guess we get a little more sassy with a side of bravado as we get older. It feels good too.  And thank you for reassuring me that my post is, and was welcome. I wanted very much to share it with all the wonderful ladies like yourself on here. Love that pic too!! Woo hoo!

@JeanLouiseFinch   That all is load of doo doo. That chart is a standard chart after deductions usually.    I am on that chart, in a certain place ....and I wish my taxes were that low.  I know what I pay. I know people higher up on pay scale, that work their way down to with deductions to a low adjusted income!!   Their trick.  Tax attorneys!  They have so many deductions... every trip is business, every thing they do is for"work, they have many businesses that loose money for 5 years, then go defunct,  there's a way.  Someone who makes twice as much as me, can pay what I pay in taxes. I see it with my own eyes!!  most borders on the brink of  legal. It's a full time job for someone avoiding taxes.  Do you know how many online businesses are just that.  Tax breaks.  Start a business, loose money, claim it as loss.  I just would never do that stuff, not only is it lying, it's cheating and if you get caught.....well if your rich no problem I guess. If you aren't too rich or well known they take everything you own

@KittySoftPaws   Never give up. Never let anyone dissuade you. There are those who fight for human rights, those that fight for land rights, and so many causes together it makes for a world where we can at least agree we need to do better

in the early 1970's there was a group PAWS, one of the sects was in Santa Clara , CA.  that fought against the. "Gas chamber" cats and dogs  . I am not getting into that and how cruel it was.  It was a sign of the time, it is what they did to depopulate  and euthanize animals. We fought  and fought for humane options. PAWS  group found better ways, found ways to make it available to shelters, overwhelmed  at the time. Remember, cats and dogs weren't spayed or neutered then, few ever got vet care, and vacinations were almost never given. Anyway, PAWS WON, pets were then put down individually, humanely.  This let to low cost spay and neuter centers, low cost vaccinations, then eventually no kill shelters, adoption groups, rescue centers.  It took time.  Little by little ...all done by people like you, me ..and the millions who give of their time or their treasures, or both.

@shoekitty  Thank you very much for the encouraging and insipring words. I felt very proud of myself, and it was also nice to meet so many like minded people that day coming together for such a good cause. It was incredible. I would definatley do it again. I was also lucky to have had the priveledge of speaking about it to the news crew. It's hard to describe how much that inspired me. It wasn't about me, rather I was a voice for them who have no voice. I'm grateful for that.  And for the amazing support on here. As for the PAWS, I had never heard of that. We have come so far from that thank goodness. We have a very beautiful SPCA no kill shelter here in Naples. It's like the Hilton for pets. A Woman also just donated 5 million to them and now it's named after her.

I'm against killing wildlife. If you don't feel safe where there are bears, raccoons, possuims... move to the city. It's your problem.  Where I live neighbors post photos when a bear shows up in their yard. They don't panic, don't expect someone to kill the bear.
