No, it cannot get rid of wrinkles, it is biologically impossible based on what argan oil is and what a wrinkle is. Soften the look of the wrinkles, possibly, but get rid of, no. Yet she says it all the time. How many times do you hear skincare people say that their product will make you look 10-20 years younger? Those are wildly FALSE claims and yet they say it all the time.
I do not believe it is ok for companies to make false claims but I also think these lawsuits get ridiculous and, at some point, consumers need to do their own research and educate themselves and not believe everything they read or hear. I think it is ridiculous and I believe common sense needs to factor in at some point. Like that hot coffee can scald you. Common sense, unless you are an infant.
@HappyDaze The cosmetic companies are the greatest liars and exaggerators in the world. If you carefully analyze what they claim, you want to laugh out loud. Yet, hope springs eternal and women can hardly wait to be the first in line to buy hyped, high-priced products. I guess they'll continue until somebody sues them, one by one.
The cosmetics companies pretty much universally state somewhere at some point that their products work on the "APPEARANCE of fine lines and wrinkles" - and many of them do that. It might be for 5 min or 5 hrs, but as long as they use the word 'appearance' they are okay as far as legal claims. Just about any cream you apply will diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
There *were* lawsuits, years ago, which is exactly why these companies have to use the words "appearance" or "visible."
I was not referring to the claims using statements like " reducing the appearance of", I specifically stated the claims by people like Josie who clearly state things like, "wrinkles will disappear" and that argan oil "gets rid of wrinkes". That is not the same as "reducing the appearance of". I've awlays questioned why she was able to get away with those claims as they are flat out lies. Others have done it to but Josie is one of the worst.

I've wondered about those pillows! I'm always on the lookout for a good pillow, I hate foam, no matter what incarnation.
I love a good down pillow. They have them basically sterilized now, washed over and over. I never have any problems with mine.
I've paid as much as $150 for a good down pillow at Macys, but that started going limp and I found one online at Target for $80 or $85 and it's the best ever, also one of those washed and washed ones. It's holding up very well.

It's not the sterilization of the down that is the problem. It's the cruel way in which the down is harvested that bothers me.

Not all down is gathered by way of animal cruelty, and a good pillow will tell you they don't use animal cruelty:

Since birds like ducks and geese are bred in large groups for the production of meat and foie gras, "harvesting" their feathers is a profitable by-product. Feathers are usually removed during the natural moulting cycle of the bird, which is the time when they shed their old feathers and grow new ones, every 6-7 weeks.
There are plenty of articles out there that explain this and even feathers being removed during the natural moulting cycle of the bird is questionable. But I'm not going to take this thread off topic anymore and get into that.
I'm uncomfortable using down of any kind. It won't come into my house.

And actually, non-sterilization IS a problem for those with allergies and/or asthma.
I am aware of that but that isn't why I brought up the fact that I won't use down. I don't have allergy issues.

ps I should add that live plucking is illegal in the US and European countries. Not true for China.
You can look for down pillows that are cruelty free.

It depends on which down companies you buy from, and what the country of origin is. If you spend big bucks to buy US-produced down, live plucking has been outlawed. If you check the company and the sources and purchase wisely, chances are slim to none the down is live-plucked.
Most people, however, would probably just grab cheap, which is China - and then whose statistics/claims does one believe? It happens, but how prevalent it is depends on who you believe (and probably how cheap the product is).
