The beauty below is a 5 year-old little girl's drawing of Pope Francis & children of different ethnicities holding hands...
Translated, it says:
"My friends and I love each other no matter our skin color."

That's beautiful and such a nice sentiment. Thanks, FG.

Here's another example of why children can be much wiser than adults. It's a child talking to her divorced parents. You may need a tissue for this one:

I love the picture. It says a lot.
Aren't children already running the world? Sure seems that way sometimes!!

That is indeed a wonderful picture, BUT, I am shaking my head over the ethnic stereotypes that even this little 5 year old is aware of -- the little Native American boy with a feather in his hair, and the little Asian girl with top knot and traditional dress.

They run the world now. Between bad parenting and politicians, I think it's covered.

I have to agree with you Peaches McFee. As someone with Native American heritage, I get very tired of the stereotypes. My favorite thing is when people ask why I left the reservation! I've never lived on a reservation, I don't have a doeskin dress with fringe, I don't do beadwork, I don't drink and I live in a very "typical" middle class america neighborhood and home with a very typical middle class america job.
Her sentiments are sweet but it shows how far we still have to go.....

From the love of a child. How wonderful!

Bingo! That's the first thing that I was too. Even at such a young age, with such a pure heart; she already thinks of people as stereotypes. She already puts people in "boxes". The words are sweet and lovely. The picture is somewhat heatr breaking....
