You want a 10 and 14 year old tried as adults? No. Their brains have not fully developed. I wish more people would educate themselves on this issue instead of just having knee jerk reactions. There is a way to punish the children, yes they are children, involved without writing them off forever.

Enough with the excuses. I don't care how bad their parenting, (though yes the parent or parents should be prosecuted along with the little gargoyles they've spawned) or other factors that no doubt will be cited. As a society we simply can't keep looking the other way and trying to explain away sadistic, barbaric, criminal behavior, no matter the age of the criminals that perpetrate it.

Folks, there are 7 children who are involved in the murder.

According to the local news tonight......

The 10 yr old male was released w/mother & attorney.

The 14 yr old male is being held.

14 yr old boy will be tried as an ADULT!

Charges: 3rd degree murder.

In Pa: Third degree murder is punishable by a prison sentence of 10-20 years.

A 14 yr old female was suppose to turn herself in. Apparently, she changed her mind.

She will also be charged w/3rd degree murder & tried as an ADULT.

A reporter interviewing people on the street where it happened all stated, "the parents should be thrown in prison right along w/the kids."

I did email my local news station. One of the questions was this...

No reporter has asked police: Since the mother turned the 14 yr old in AND he was CHARGED, will she collect the $20k award or a part of it?

Will she be charged for allowing her children to break curfew?

Great question @Mz iMac I didn't even think of that. Do you watch channel 3, 6 or 10. When we're in Jersey we watch 6ABC w/Rick and Sharrie Williams.

Every time there is an incident inv the police the remarh=ks are ALWAYS the same. But they were so nice, so helpful. such goodpeople.....When people say I wonder why this happened? Look to the lack of supervision at home....These kids did not just act out this time. They may not have beat someone to death before but they weren't innocent lil kids.I hope they get a sentence as horrible as their actions. I have no sympathy for these "children".

Today on the news, there were two small children in Minnesota taunting two police officers. They looked like they were wearing diapers or underwear. They kept hitting them and the officers kept backing away. I would guess they were 4 or 5 years old. It makes me wonder where are their parents.

We have some serious problems in our country. No respect for life. Parents should be held accountable for their child's actions and face prosecution.

@elated Where are the parents? Where do you think the kids learned that behavior? From the parents, or single parent and the man du jour.
