Re: Meats At Sams Club and Costco

My son was a chef at one of the best resorts in N.M.; they bought call their meats at Costco.

I agree that Sam's Club has excellent pork ribs usually at a very good price. I also enjoy their better beef cuts.

Have not been as impressed with Costco's beef but do like it when they have their seafood events.

Re: Meats At Sams Club and Costco

I'm really not much of a beef eater, love my hamburgers but really don't care much for steaks.

My husband loves a good steak. He'll have a steak and I'll have a salad with chicken. He says that he doesn't care for the rib-eyes at Costco but loves the filet mignon. So, we always get the filets, and we have had good luck with roasts and pork. I also like their grass fed beef.

Re: Meats At Sams Club and Costco

Ninety percent of the meat we eat comes  from Costco or Sam's but mainly Sam's.  I love the chicken breasts at Costco because the packages are sealed which makes it easier to freeze.  I've never had any issues.  If it's at a good price I will buys Sam's tenderloins and I get about 15steaks when I cut it.  It's just the two of us but I repackage what I buy and share with my three kids.  We have enjoyed any meat that was purchased at either place.

the meats at sams club are excellent in both quality and in price and i purchase them frequently to use immediately or to freeze.

chicken pieces, roasting chickens, chicken tenderloins, rotisserie chicken, filet, chuck roasts, ground beef 93/7, smoked salmon, hot dogs, and more. i like getting it delivered sometimes also.

@ECBG  I buy ribeye steaks weekly from Sam's Club and they're excellent.....better than Costco and always better than Publix. The seasoning one uses is key, of course, and it's important to make sure your steaks have enough fat on them. If they're too lean, they don't cook as well and they don't taste as good (and it's not bad for you, either). Also, I only buy Prime beef because it means the steaks will have better marbling. The increase in price is worth it to me.

I've had good meat from both. I just can't buy ground beef in a tube.

I usually buy the prime filet from Sams club, it is very tender and has good flavor.

Sometimes I buy new york or rib eye but we prefer the filet.

Re: Meats At Sams Club and Costco

I've had sirloin steaks from Costco that were good.  Just started buying ground beef at Costco because the price at my local grocery store is insane.  Started buying chicken at Costco too.  It's half the price than grocery store.  I was at Sam's Club a wekk ago.  I'm still pretty new at Sam's but going to try their brisket and ground beef, maybe some of their steaks.  I have to say just by appearance, it looks better than Costco.  Some of Costco's pieces are too big, like their brisket.  Smaller sizes of brisket at Sams.
