Re: Mandatory / Voluntary Testing

@Anonymous032819

What you are suggesting doesn’t make any sense if you are suggesting it because of the current virus threat. There would be no reason to do as you suggest.

But Im sure a few people will freak out at the idea....

Re: Mandatory / Voluntary Testing

For me personally, if it were mandatory, I would comply, but voluntary?

I would have to think about it.

Re: Mandatory / Voluntary Testing

Mandatory, yes. But how would it be feasible?

The population of my county, is around 530,000. That's a few folks.

Now, we could, still, all be tested and happily skipping on our way, while the testers, were barely making a dent, in LA County, population 10,000,000+. 😳

LA county folks, don't you ever get claustrophobic🤪that is a boatload of peoples 😈

Sure - as long as I don't  have to pay for it...

Yes. I would not want to unknowingly spread it (or spread it period).  It seems to be a rather small inconvenience to protect others.

It is my understanding that the tests need to be improved; and that there should be more of them.

Do the math.

Yes, but others can test negative because they haven't had the virus long enough to produce enough antibodies to test positive, so they think they're clear and they're not. That's already happened here in Texas.

Are you going to quarantine EVERYONE who tests negative to see if they test positive later?

@Alison Wonderland   Correct.  She tested negative twice and was released before the results of another test came back.

She was out and about for 12 hours-at a hotel near the airport and at a food court in North Star Mall.

DH and I were discussing this with our PCP today.

Re: Mandatory / Voluntary Testing

@Anonymous032819   It's an interesting question but mandatory or voluntary-not sure how that would work.

What would we do while test results are pending?

Where would we put everyone?

What about the homeless?

What happens when 2 negative tests show up but another after shows positive?  As happened with the woman in San Antonio.

I guess if mandatory I would comply but I don't see either situation happening.

As medical personnel are left waiting for tests for people with symptoms, this question is moot to me.
