Well it's obvious you've haven't experienced a family member die while serving, I HAVE not a HAPPY day. Remembering them with love and happy times passed yes but big difference.

@Grand Happy No need for that.  Nobody here is out to hurt you.  I am sorry for your loss, I am grateful for the service, but please, don't assume people are unkind and thoughtless.  We aren't in that bad a place.  I wish you peace and some relief from your stress.

By the way, when did the P.O. changed it to "Daily Digest"?

@Sage04

As far as I can tell, just a day or two ago.

Drives me nuts when people say happy Memorial Day.
As for our home we pray for the loved ones of our fallen heroes, we don't party. We give Thanks everyday for our veterans and of course our very own active duty son 🇺🇲
Needless to say I don't care about no mail.

I never say Happy Memorial Day either. Now I do tell people to have a safe Memorial Day weekend.

Not that it matters but tracking shows UPS delivery on Saturday for Q items. UPS never work  on Saturday here?  I don't care about Amazon Sunday deliveries either as Monday as usual is fine. Our summer population triples so I am sure a Monday holiday and a two day weekend would be welcomed as busier.

@Grand Happy,  have you never heard of a Celebration of Life?  Not at all inappropriate for Memorial Day.

A celebration of life is an event that focuses primarily on the life a loved one lived, and the legacy that they leave behind. Sometimes even with a party-like atmosphere, a celebration of life tends to be just that – a celebration. The focus is on happy memories of the deceased rather than on the sad fact that they’re no longer with us.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

My poor mailman!

First off, three pkgs I was expecting Monday didn't show up...🙀

But 5 pkgs for another resident in a different apt showed up in my mailbox.

[these were pkgs from PoshMark]
The next day, I went to my mailbox at about 4PM and the mailman was putting MY THREE PKGS in a locked mailbox! I was overjoyed as I told him what happened.

He said he was so sorry ...he had spine surgery in December and was just lately getting back to his job.

He said the workload is very heavy.

I feel bad for ALL WORKERS now because I suspect all companies are on overload and deluging their employees with a lot of work.

I have informed delivery haven't had a emails since the 21st..They never have enough  drivers here.

This weekend I will be thinking  of my Dad( WW2) and Grandfather (WW1)..more than usual..

Grandpa came from his country and joined the Army to become a citizen.

@Grand Happy   I can be happy and grateful at the same time!

It's Fleet Week here and the unofficial start of summer.  It is great to see people in military service enjoying themselves.
