@NoelSeven Hi Noel. During the 1970's, numerous proposals were made to build more reservoirs, dams and de-salinization plants. But oh no, the environmentalists poo poo'd it all and the Moon beam Jerry went along with it all. Now what do we have. It's proof for all the world to see that utopian thinking and irresponsible thinking doesn't work.

@NoelSeven Hi Noel. During the 1970's there were proposals to build new dams, reservoirs, and de-salinization plants here in CA. But the kooks, airy fairy utopians poo poo'd the plans and Moon Beam Jerry went along with it all. Now look at where we are. It's proof for all that utopian thinking and airy fairy ways don't work. NEVER WILL.

The citizens of California voted these policies in and accepted the consequences of having a large, dependent population of people who owe alliance to other countries and disregard our laws.
i'm outraged at this comment at this time when people's homes and lives are in danger. not to mention our firefighters.

We have always had a financially conservative faction that voted against any progress as mentioned. But I would like to see a source for what you say happened.
The drought affected all reservoirs, etc. It would have drained others, also. You blame "kooks," I blame those who shut their eyes to pollution and global warming.

I feel the same way. Trying to politicize this horror is so inappropriate.

I live in Napa cal not far from the fires,it is a disaster, it came on so quickly and burned so many acres in the shortest time recorded, the people had barely enough time to grab there keys and escape ,alot of people did get there animals out in time. What is amazing is the people in this area who immediately went to work to get food, blankets animal food, toiletries ,tents ,towels ,clothes, you name it huge trucks were loaded and taken to the calistoga fairgrounds where most of the evacuees were,so many ranchers took in other peoples livestock, people boarded animals. The evacuees are being well fed,and taken care of ,but of course its not the same as your own home. some people have offered their spare bedrooms.20,000 evacuees, 60,000 acres burned. The red cross has told volunteers thank you but they are over whelmed with stuff and don't need anything else now. What a blessing mankind can be,no one hesitated to help, thats what our country should always do.. We are thankful for the voulunteers, fireman, police etc. for all they do. Alot of them are firevictims too and have no idea if they have a home anymore. I am told the red cross, salvation army can use money ,so if any one wants to send a donation I am sure it will be accepted, just pray for these wonderful people who have lost everything. Tucka.

Ridiculous. In my area desal plant will be open and operating this year.
As for being strapped financially...
From May this year:
SACRAMENTO -- In the clearest sign yet that the Great California Recovery is proceeding on pace, Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins announced Tuesday that the state's revenue has climbed as much as $8 billion in the last four months.
The state's public schools will receive the bulk of that windfall under Proposition 98, and Assembly Democrats hope it's used to increase average per-pupil spending and expand access to quality child care and preschool programs, the San Diego Democrat said.
Another chunk of change must be saved for a rainy day under a proposition approved by California voters in November. But the Legislature will likely also have about a billion dollars to play around with -- a happy accident that's expected to set off fights among health, poverty and other interest groups about how to spend the extra cash.
"We know we're not going to get everything we want," Atkins said. "No one ever does."
Atkins' comments come a week before Gov. Jerry Brown is expected to release a revised draft of his $113 billion general fund spending plan for the fiscal year that begins in July.
Department of Finance spokesman H.D. Palmer wouldn't comment on Atkins' projection of increased state revenue of between $6 billion to $8 billion, but he said it's safe to assume the governor's May revision will reflect strong personal income tax receipts, driven in part by surging capital gains revenue as California's economy quickly recovers. The surplus was originally projected to be about $2 billion.
One thing is clear: California's financial outlook couldn't be more different now than it was just a few years ago in the depths of the state's fiscal crisis -- at one point the budget deficit hit $26.6 billion.

Although I have been gone from Napa for 21 years now, it will always be "home" to me. All my family is there and so is my heart. I have donated to Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch (JARR) in Napa Valley. They are helping people and their animals in a big way just like I knew they would.

Just did a little checking to see if I could find why the people of CA are being blamed for the fires and where that's coming from. The headlines are from one well known outlet. What a surprise.
