We live close enough to have ash on our vehicles. We also know someone who evacuated his home. It's so devastating. Pray for rain!!

one thing I never understand is why people don't just open their gates and barns and doors to let their animals get away if they cannot take them with them.  They'd at least have a chance. It breaks my heart to think of the animals burned alive because they were stuck in houses, barns, or fenced in areas. Smiley Sad((

There's a light rain here, has been going on for maybe half an hour.

I hope it's raining harder in the fire area, which is not that far away from here.

California has LONG known of this finite resource yet they encouraged an ever growing population of under educated, financially dependant population who squated there, in addition to the Sanctuary cities.    The state financially strapped itself financially, like Greece and Puerto Rico.    It has no resources to use ocean water or find other resources.   Now, everyone must pay the price that was predicted LONG ago.   '

The citizens of California voted these policies in and accepted the consequences of having a large, dependent population of people who owe alliance to other countries and disregard our laws.

Noel - the poster is referring to our ability to pay to stop the fires.  States of emergency are called for.

NYWOMAN  - You are correct in what you wrote.  I've lived here all my life along with many relatives older and long gone.  However, you must know that many Californians are transplants from other states - especially back East.

They bring their nonsense here and also vote.  They vote things in that should NEVER have been done.  They didn't live here long enough to know our history and what this State needs.  They are to blame in my opinion.

I know what she was referring go, LR.

There are almost 9.000 firefighters fighting the fire.  Technology for building treatment plants for using ocean water is new and underway.

There is no magic answer and the fire is due to drought + tinder, nothing else.
