I don't understand why people dislike this couple. They never have been arrested, in rehab or had numerous marriages or broken engagements. I do agree they work hard. I also have to give them credit for not going out of the country to get married. They are helping the U.S. economy.

I have a theory.
Having read the forums for quite awhile, my assessment is that famous, celebrated, extremely wealthy, successful, powerful and happy young women are a bete noir to many posters here
For whatever reason I don't understand for certain, but one can definitely speculate and theorize.

100 guests??? I had 100 guests at my own wedding nearly 40 years ago. For this couple try 1,000+ guests.
MSG is a perfect location for this event. They paid to have the streets closed; there are already underground pathways that take cars right to the stage(s); no windows and a totally blocked ceiling/roof so paparazzi helicopters never get a chance to try to hover to see anything.
They've paid massive amounts of their own money for their wedding, plus charitable organizations -- that never came out of your or my pockets. I wish them the very best!

Its a combo of envy and regret. Powerful emotions. Young, beautiful, happy and succesful women can be triggering for many because its the direct opposite of the state of their own lives.

I agree with your analysis, especially after reading so many posts in multiple threads about the wedding.
It's my personal assessment, so it is not "wrong." It's my view, analysis and opinion, so there is no "wrong."
It continues to perplex me that professional success accompanied by wealth accumulation are viewed with such disdain. These are things that should be aspirational with hard work and determination and applauded when achieved.
Yet here, these achievements are scorned with unhappiness, derision and joylessness.
How sad, but not unusual in these parts.
