I am so sorry to hear about your chemo treatments. If you have a desktop monitor, it can be adjusted for brightness, ususally on the bottom front. It should have a set of buttons, that will adjust the brightness of the screen for you. The brightness button will usually have a picture of a sun. I hope this is helpfull to you. If you have a tablet you can google how to adjust the brightness of the screen.

@luv-the-Q wrote:@raven-blackbird Yes, it was rude. Why does it bother you, even if she posts her complaint every single day?
I'll get in the middle of this. Do you know Raven? One thing I know about her is that she proactive and she herself had a bout with cancer. She is absolutely the last person on this forum who would ever kick someone when they were down and sick. She's a tell it like it is type of person and I seriously do not believe that she was trying to be rude......quite the contrary, I thinks he was trying to be helpful. Her intentions were good.....
That is what is so difficult about the interpretation of the written word. But she's good peeps and I would hate for Show Me to become upset about this.....
You're right on all counts Violet.....
.....I appreciate what you said.
I'm trying to help ShowMe, because I don't see the Q changing how this site is laid out or doing it any time soon IF they do.
Computer glasses would help her because it would take the glare away and thus remove the strain on her eyes...........My chemo was done and over long ago, but even my doctor had me get computer glasses for when I was on the computer and I was on it a lot...........they helped and so much so I still wear them, since I'm on a computer at work all day long....................................raven

@ShowMe wrote:I'M BEGGING YOU TO PLEASE HAVE THE POWERS TO BE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE COLOR OF THE PRINT AND THE BACKGROUND BRIGHTNESS......
IT IS AWFUL......ON THE FORUMS AND ON YOUR HOME PAGE. WHILE I WAS TRYING TO CHECK OUT SOMETHING THAT WAS ON ONE OF THE SHOWS TODAY, I FINALLY HAD TO QUIT TRYING TO READ IT.......
INSTEAD OF THE Q SPENDING SO MUCH TIME ON THE LAST QUESTIONNAIRE ABOUT THE FACE PAGE, MAYBE THEY SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO HELP THEIR QVC CUSTOMERS TO BE ABLE TO SEE WHAT IS BEING OFFERED.
I've sort of read this exact same complaint a number of times at the Q. I don't know if all the posts were yours or not. But what seems to always be missing is exactly what the display or print ought to look like or be change to in order to be more legible?
Apparently most people are able to handle the basic black print on a white background.
But you're having trouble (due to your illness or treatment but trouble regardless of cause).
Is it the brightness of the white that hurts your eyes? Or is it the contrast between the black print on a white background?
Maybe if you more specific as to what the display ought to look like to be more user-friendly to you, the suggestions to help could be more specific, as well.
If its just the BRIGHTNESS, you should be able to change that setting to a lower level as to not be so harsh on your computer or device. Same with contrast.
In fact, depending upon your device, one can technically change all of the colors, the fonts and everything - for every page one views. You're not necessarily stuck with only the display as it appears in a default mode.
You could change things, depending upon your device and settings, to be reading everything - everywhere online - in Ye Olde English script on a lavender background.
That would just be something customized to your preference on your own computer.
If you can't do any of that or your device doesn't allow for any of that and the problem is BRIGHTNESS, all you have to do really is to take a TINTED piece of plastic (like from the cover of a see-through folder) and tape it onto your screen. It will immediately filter or cut down on the glare and alter the harsh white to something more toned down.
Such folders come with a range of tinted plastic covers - from colored to slightly tinted gray to clear. They're about $1/ea. Just remove the plastic from the folder and you have an instant glare shield.
So you don't necessarily have to run out and by anything if you happen to have such a folder on hand.
Good luck with your treatments. And good luck getting creative in finding ways to customize your display.

Show me, I'm sorry you continue to have side effects from your treatment. I don't think Raven meant any harm in suggesting the computer glasses. In fact, I've been having problems reading online since I had LASIK surgery a few months ago, so went to Amazon to check these out.
They start at about $15, and reviews are very good. I was glad to read that a few people said they bought them after having LASIK. Not sure why the doc's office never mentioned this to me, especially since they know I'm self employed and have to be online much of the day. We can learn some interesting and helpful things from each other here.

What is important is that show me understood what Raven"s intent was, right?

I have to disagree. I love the white and the brightness. Better to see things with, especially small fonts.
Also doesn't cause me to squint or suffer from eyestrain particularly after dark with the lights on or lowered.

Public Board...........My comment...........meant for you.........therefore relevant...........cutting down another's HOPE............... not nice .... I'm not joining the oft used circuitous reasoning.
