@luv-the-Q wrote:@raven-blackbird Yes, it was rude. Why does it bother you, even if she posts her complaint every single day?
I'll get in the middle of this. Do you know Raven? One thing I know about her is that she proactive and she herself had a bout with cancer. She is absolutely the last person on this forum who would ever kick someone when they were down and sick. She's a tell it like it is type of person and I seriously do not believe that she was trying to be rude......quite the contrary, I thinks he was trying to be helpful. Her intentions were good.....
That is what is so difficult about the interpretation of the written word. But she's good peeps and I would hate for Show Me to become upset about this.....
You're right on all counts Violet.....
.....I appreciate what you said.
I'm trying to help ShowMe, because I don't see the Q changing how this site is laid out or doing it any time soon IF they do.
Computer glasses would help her because it would take the glare away and thus remove the strain on her eyes...........My chemo was done and over long ago, but even my doctor had me get computer glasses for when I was on the computer and I was on it a lot...........they helped and so much so I still wear them, since I'm on a computer at work all day long....................................raven
My DH, who has had no chemo or Lasik, had to get the 'computer' glasses, to relieve his eye strain from the glare of the computer screen and says they help him a lot!
Before that, I had never even heard of 'computer' glasses! LOL!

With my fibromyalgia and on days when my eyes are sensitive to light, I put a pair of solar shields over my glasses and it makes such a difference.. There is a whole lot of glaring white on this page, lots have complained about it.. seems too much wasted space..

I felt the need to come back and to comment again.
I am not one that wants to ask anyone for help but i felt the need to post and ask the Q if they could/would help a few of us.I don't know if any of the moderators read here or not.??
If it doesn't happen i guess there is nothing more i can do .. as i tried.![]()

I think that what might be unfortunate, on an individual basis, is that there are many things that people wish the site had/did. But there is no way they can make all of it happen because some of it is the opposite of others.
For example, really huge SCREAMING all caps and all bolded makes my eyes, then my head, hurt. But it does not do that for everybody. Maybe some people wish they had all giant font or some wish it was all tiny. Maybe for some people the lighter colors are problematic while for others bright or dark colors would be problematic.
I think they have done well to try and make it as doable as possible.
At least they listen and if enough people ask for something they might do it.

Oh, I forgot to say (like I don't blather on enough sometimes) -
You can also make adjustments just on YOUR computer to change the sizes and the fonts of everywhere you go. That way you don't impose it on everybody.
You can also make it lighter or darker, etc. That might be an answer for some. ![]()

The contrast fatigues my eyes. I can't imagine what it does for someone going through an illness that impacts their sight. Sending you healing thoughts ShowMe.

I am going to say this then will never say anything about the boards again.......not about the hosts, the items they are selling, about the vendors, or anything negative..... But will not compliment them either.
The reason for the thread being started out in bold and all caps was not to be screaming. It is much easier for me to read........ I have no reason to scream.
I have one wish for all of you, and that is that you never have to have this kind of problem......

I'm sorry, Show Me! I did not mean to be insulting or argumentative.
I just meant to present a POV and maybe some helpful ideas.
We all have our challenges and I hope you are able to come out the other side of whatever yours are. I mean that!
I admit that I can be opinionated and tend to be one to follow rules of etiquette as much as possible so I worried that the seemingly ANGRY post would not get the attention that perhaps it deserves. Clearly, I was wrong and now I understand that.
I wish you well! ![]()
