MARINE PHOTO SCANDAL

[ Edited ]

I did something today that I rarely do .....  I yelled at the TV!

I was watching the news story about the secret website where thousands of photos of naked female Marines are posted ....   and the posts there are pretty nasty.   How sad.  One female Marine interviewed this morning said she felt "violated".    Really?   What were you thinking when these photos were taken?

What got me angry is how stupid is ANY woman to pose for nude photos (or videos) and assume they'll never see the light of day.     Whether it's an ex boyfriend or whatever ....   what woman in her right mind would do this?

Good grief, gals, if you insist on posing nude .... KEEP the photos yourself!

Okay, my rant is over.

What's your take on this scandal?

Regardless of what they may or may not be thinking. To take these photos without their consent and post on a website is wrong. The marines most be so proud of themselves. This is up there with Tailhook.

Women were stupid to take them and the men were stupid to post them. Young people do not always have the maturity we think they do.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

Yes, if these photos were taken WITHOUT the consent of the women, then SHAME on the Marines!

Even in 2017, it's hard for a woman to be in the military. They still face harrassment.

Just because a woman takes a photo does not give anyone the right to publish it without her consent. That is blaming the victim for something she has not agreed to.

The same as saying she asked for it.

Even if they were taken with consent, shame on anyone posting them without consent.

The women are the victims, period. If you think they made poor decisions, that's fine, but that does not mean they aren't still victims of the people who posted their pictures.

Victim blaming helps no one.

Some of these photos were taken without the woman's knowledge.

They were posted with all all of the private information about them.  Full name, rank, address, etc.

This behavior is shocking.  Our military needs to get their act together and FAST,

Agreed.

The women did NOT give consent to have the pictures posted.

It is shameful that in 2017, the military is still harassing women.

For many, it's still a boys club, and women need not apply.

Most were taken without consent.

A few were taken for their boyfriends only but were passed around.

Gee, get the facts right and don't always be so quick to jump the gun and blame women.  Where is your outrage for the men who hid and took secret photos?
